Hope everyone who comes across the glitched version is posting bug reports about it! We've killed LBC like 4x since then and it was fine, so just a random glitch I assume.

Was there a hate reset involved?Originally Posted by Thefrost
no hate reset and thats what was the worst part as i'm sure you can imagine![]()
Also, my tanks say they think he has double attacked a lot more a couple of the fights we've done in the last few weeks but I haven't noticed much difference and we never were in any danger of losing from this. We just almost lost the time above and luckily got to the sides in time so more wouldn't go off. Until we're sure it was a one time thing we are fighting him on the sides cause we're lazy i guess lol!
No it just means you killed 9/10 and didn't realize it, one of your tanks had his hate reset, the other did not.Originally Posted by Thefrost
9 is hate reset on person with most hate at the time. I won't try to explain this anymore since your stance seems to be that glitches can't happen. Also, even if it was 9 gears the HM should still not be 90% and again there would have been hate reset on one person (I agree that it is possible to not see a gear port for some reason and write the number we killed wrong). I've done salvage since jan and I have killed this mega around triple digits. It was very different this time.
It was fine today, got as spammy as normal towards the end then dropped ea's. Definitely hasn't changed any.
If you say so, I'm just trying to poke at other possibilities than jump to conclusions. I've had a lot of mobs seem different at times but I just assumed it was because the game hates me for being an asshole. If it's a serious glitch it needs to be fixed, but there are other possibilities.Originally Posted by Thefrost

Our first attempts at LBC have usually been kite/nuke fights, and we've timed out at under 20%. I kite on NIN/WAR and normal attacks hit me for an average of ~110-120 damage fully unlocked and buffed.
Last night was the first time we tried killing a 4F Chariot to weaken LBC. There was NO difference in damage taken from his normal physical attacks, it was still ~120 average. HM was also killing people who weren't at full health.
Is anyone able to get any noticeable results in weakening att/def of LBC? What kind of differences are you seeing?
Edit: grammar
Don't kite it :<
I don't get why you kite it, especially if you're tanking as a NIN. If your RDM has SlowII 3/3 and you put elegy on the mob, you will see an attack speed increase of 87% on LBC, haste and double march will make your timers manageable and though you don't have counter (much more beneficial than say, parry, which has no JA enhancement) if your Parry is capped you should make it through those crappy times under 25%. Also sounds like you need more DD for that last part, the longer you keep LBC awake the better chances of seeing yourself die.
Back before I recruited a couple mnks from our regular endgame ls we dual tanked LBC with with nins until the 25-35% then pulled one off with most dmg coming from the nins/blms. I'll tell you right now, its sure as shit not fast, but it can get the job done. Just plan more time for the boss and you should be fine, screw kiting.
There is also a slight learning curve on actually being able to tank chariots; especially Long-Bowed Chariot.
When it readies Discharge or Inertia Stream start casting Ichi, shadows would be back up right after the TP move hits you. This way you can save Ni for the melee hits, where you will really need it. We used to use a NIN on our early LBC's to help tank it, usually used a heavy defense setup but DD'ed with Katanas, swapped to Terra's Staff if we needed to recover MP or something was gettin messy.
We have zero BRDs in our Salvage group, that's why we started kiting. If you enter at 17:00 or thereabouts, NIN boots will give you enough of a lead to outrun most TP moves, and regular attacks, so it's easier to maintain MP if we kite as opposed to face-tanking.Originally Posted by Churchill
With Berserk up (and zero BRDs) our NINs were getting average Jins of ~350, what kind of damage are you getting in comparison?Originally Posted by Churchill
Our primary source of damage has been BLMs but we get hosed when we don't have any INT cells drop from the scorpions.
50-65 a fist and 500-700 asurans from two MNK's that have one march/haste and for me 24% haste and for the other MNK 22% I believe, pretty sure he doesn't use fuma's though it'd be fine if he did. Last LBC was 7m but that's eating HM, no 2hours, BLM free nuked and a SAM jumped in to make darkness when he could. Just two MNK's with 10 gears/chariot killed takes about 10-11m with no 2hours, about 15m if you're being safe avoiding HM and stuff.
You could also (what we do) go east > NW > get stat cells from trolls > chariot > LBC. But if your main damage comes from BLM's, do you take any melee otherwise? If not that's a lot of time spent on 1F considering magic cells...
This is the part we're missing, thanks!Originally Posted by Churchill
Well now we always kill the chariot to weaken it. Dunno how exactly it weakens it but to me it seems both lower its def, and somehow east one lowers its attack. Killing west chariot, LBC was hitting 300-450 and killing east it was down to 200-300. The last kill was with 9/10 warp gears and east chariot, LBC died surprisingly fast , 10-15 minute lol.
I've never actually tried killing the west Chariot, but it seems like the thing my group really needs. Was just wondering, do the triple gears link with the chariot? And if so, how do you deal with it?
If you wait for a minute or two, you can get a clean pull. We always do anyway, or like, maybe link one triple gear...which isn't a big deal. If you're crunched on time and don't want to risk waiting, have someone with RR sac gears to the other side, pull chariot, guy RR's, chariot dies, you wait 2m or so for weakness to wear off, kill gears.
meh can't stand LBC without the gears being killed.
