Because rogues cant take hits worth shit. Monks aren't especially great at it either due to not being able to wear any armor, but atm I'm the best we've got

Well one of the nice things about D&D is that there's no party size limit and not much of an exp penalty for lower level characters. Anyone joining late can be adventurers drawn to tales of the higher characters' exploits.

Try playing with over 5 people, who all have cohort, summon and other shit. Battle become a chore soon, and half of the people don't pay attention. It's doable of course, but I cant say I particularly enjoy it. 3-4 players is the best imo.

Being GM for a large group blows donkey's ball too. It's really hard to keep story interesting for everyone, and making challenging fight without overkilling the PC. They will either rape you, or you will rape 1 of them if you give a small amount of battle strategy to your mobs.

Casualties in DnD was always the biggest issue for me. Dead player are unhappy player (especially they lose ton xp, and cant do shit for a long time), but removing every penalty also remove the fear of losing your char. I could never find a good balance between both side.

In my last campaign, I removed the xp penalty completly to keep everyone at the same level. Worked relatively well, and I could kill my pc in most fight, but it's still not perfect.

Highlights were probably Max eyefucking the hobgoblin and Sonomaa's almost superhumanly graceful elf knocking rocks over any time she tried to sneak up on people.

Remyo the Wood Elf. At the tender age of 47 a large dragon named "Umbrella" attacked the woodland village of Raccoon City. Remyo was the only survivor. Survived by honing his survival skills and living off the land. Became a proficient hunter and tracker because if he didn't he would certainly perish. He wandered for many years of diligently tracking the dragon, Remyo used his fathers bow to slay the dragon. Now he wanders the world searching for more dragons to kill. He found an adventuring group he thought he should join led by Bagel, though he only joined because he thought they should know just how awesome elven hunters are. However, he has misgivings about maxxanlax the butt dwarf.
