bhaflau remnants 2nd floor rampart

this rampart has been iffy with us lately (and not just yesterday), but today we didnt pop it, does spirits within or enspells have a shot of not causing it to spawn? these two were the only things we did outside of normal melee, but we have had the rampart spawn under these conditions before... any ideas?

Any kind of magic damage can cause it not to spawn

Yup... don't use SW
Enspell is kinda low damage so it shouldn't take off spikes but I wouldn't use it anyways to be safe.

i also dont melee with an elemental staff. I'm not sure if the additional effect can remove spikes, but better to be safe than sorry. kirins/mercurial pole ftw if there is any type of win with a blm meleeing

edit: Oh ya, make fun of your mnk who wants the Usukane Sune-Ate when he uses formless strikes and makes the spikes disappear

alright, thanks for the quick replies, ive already informed the people to not use them again, guess only on boss runs will we just use that/nukes...its just so nice to see 3300+ spirits break out D:

Just pay attention to the spikes; you can dance/enspell/nuke them all you want if by the time they're dying they have spikes up. Of course, I wouldn't reccomend it, nor do I do it, but that's a sure-fire way of knowing what's a dangerous thing to do and what isn't.

Anyone having issues on having Bee's pop? 3/22 Ramparts have popped..

1st time, 1 Bee popped and then depopped, no dorp odviously.

2nd time, 1 Bee popped and didn't drop.

3rd time, 5 popped and one dropped Skadi Mask.

Anyone else going omgwtfbbq on this? If anyone says they're 1/1, hate them!

lolbees, everyone has problems on all the ramparts unless Bhaf is their lucky zone. How did the bee depop tho? lol.. Geussing it was last mob?

Our Last lolBee run netted us 2 NM and 1 Usu Feet 35(mine \o/) in the full 100>0%. I was 0/371792038290(more like 0/15) in seeing SP pop before that.. So technically, I'm 1/1 on actually seeing SP pop and getting dorp!

We've had horrible luck... I've heard of some newb groups on their first rampart going 1/1 Hikazu Sune-ate or w/e.. make me /wrists.

Oh I forgot 1 of the 5 that popped depopped . But yeah.. the first one that got depopped went something like this:

Leader>> k, kill Rampart
*2 seconds later*
Leader>> WAIT NM POP, WAIT WAIT WAIT!
Generic Blm #3 Casts Thundaga III.
*Rampart dies, Bee depops*

2nd time I saw one depop made me emo fosho. Went into Bhfalau at 3am with some random friends that I got together. Whm Mnk Mnk Sam Sam Thf.. we did Mad Bomber, got my Whm buddy some Machas Cuffs, cool stuff. So we head on up to 2F Puddings, get those dead & head into the Rampart. First 4 pop, 3rd drops Skadi Mask (my heart lights up at the treasure pool, then died). After 3rd Nm, Mnk#1 goes "afk" or falls asleep.. Sam#2 falls asleep about the same time.. Sam#1, Mnk#2, and myself on Thf can't keep it up, not enough Dmg .. bee's start stacking up and our Whm starts running low on Mp. Basically.. overwhelmed by Bee's, as our last person dies (Whm, with the Rampart at like 5%?) 5th Nm pops, depops when Rampart dies from 5 bee's being out at the same time.

HATE 1/1 lol. I feel like the TSM of lolbee's atleast it doesn't cost anything to go into Salvage, someday though.. someday I'll see Hikazu!

Can anyone say for sure that the spikes themselves are the trigger? I ask because we've killed all four flans while they had spikes and still didn't get the rampart. When we did this though, magic was used on one or more of the mobs.

Is it possible that magic toggles the status of spikes, but spikes don't necessarily determine rampart spawns? (basically suggesting that magic usage alone determines the spawn)

It's most definitely the spikes...
never had a problem spawning it with all 4 having spikes up upon death.

Rampart Pop 12 Skirmish appearance 4
Skirmish Pephredo 4/14(mean one item per each time they've shown for us)
Hikazu Sune-Ate 3
Freya's Mask 1

I'm personally went 2/3(seeing usukane feet) then 0/3 for NM after mine dropped.

We are 1/1 on Hikazu Sune-Ate but that was like 3months ago, and still no pop for this bee, also 2/2 on Hikazu Hara-Ate

You just didn't notice the spikes wear off before or as it died. The condition is definately, if they all die with spikes, it pops. You can even hit them with magic and still pop it, as long as they have spikes on death. Typically, our BLMs nuke the N/S ones around 40% and killshot it. Once though, our BLM was resisted and left like 10% HP on, somehow, luckily, spikes didn't go off or it went right back into spike mode before dying.. and the RR still popped. Was pretty fucking funny.
