    Re: New Exp/Merit Locations

My static tried the skinks today in Sauromugue [S] at 43-45. They felt like almost the right level but they were kind of a pain to fight (they have a lightning breath that adds stun as well as normal Ripper Claw/Scythe Tail moves and fast attack speed). We're doing a 2 DNC healing setup with 3 melees and a PLD so any mob with dangerous TP moves is extra dangerous to us, so it might just have been that factor (obviously we don't do lynx for the same reason). We tried taking a Tabar Beak before leaving but it was clearly too high at that level, hitting for 250+ on melees and petrifying our tank (which DNC can't remove).

There's definitely a number of good lynx camps if your PT setup is right for them, and probably 2 or so camps for skink+beak at maybe 45-47ish (this is all in the NE corner of the zone - watch out for high level gobs).

    Re: New Exp/Merit Locations

    Interesting observations.

Just outside of Giddeus are a ton of VT@57 Yagudo's. Of particular interest is a spot right at the edge of the bunch of em, just south of the little path leading out there. Theres two of those rocks you can kind of climb up on, and if you sit between them there is no aggro.

You can pop out from between them and take your pick from 2 Smn's (3k HP), a Blm (3k HP), a Whm (3.2k I think), a Brd (3.4k) and a Mnk(4k I think). During campaign an additional Whm and Smn roam just north of the path. The worst TP move yags have being sweep, it could be an interesting alternative to Lesser Colis if you are wanting Sigil/not losing food/Tp all the time.

Also worth checking out: Just southeast of the maw in Batallia Downs, up on top of the hill there looks to be a safe camp, with lots of gobs to pull. They should be good Exp fodder for the low 50's/upper 40's levels where people do QC or cram into Garlaige. Fairly low HP too, I recall about 2.5k.

A few more levels on DRG you could also probably solo in Vunkerl Inlet around the bridge @ F-8. There's 5 birds spread out between both ends of the bridge with a Pixie that flies between them. I solo'd DNC from 34-37 there just for the piercing bonus.

Wish I knew about that before blowing two stacks of echos on xp, lol. Anywhoo, worms lasted me from 31 to 35 with the odd party invite for a level or so. It's growing in popularity, when I got there it was pretty barren but now it's got at least one bst/blu/dnc at the zoneline at all times, on the four worms there. To note about the cottage camp is that the south worms are very unsafe; a few goblins pass by and it's difficult to avoid them.

Currently finishing up 37 on dhamels in saruta, silence lasts seconds and def down is counterable with cocoon. They seem pretty weak too, hitting me for half of what Ba were in Battalia Downs [S]. As I write this I got stomped for 340 and died. Ow. Also, pixie patrol in the area, I got c4'd quite a few times. ^^

Has anyone checked the flies and bats in rolanberry? On paper it looks good for xp, and i'm guessing from memory that it would be the Roc area.

Toads at 48 in Saru are actually... pretty damm easy for a duo (drg/blu and blu/nin).

    EDIT!
    Okay, they ethier have a very strong resistance to sheep song, or they can't be slept. oO;

Frogs are light based or something, light based sleep never works on them in Ein.

Where would you say is the "BEST" current merit spot from WotG? I feel like playing around somewhere new without having to deal with the hell that is bhaflau.

I went around when WotG was first released on my 65 BLM. Found various pets that were T to me... Nuked them but they had just as much HP as a normal T. So unlike original zones, the pets in WotG can not be solo'd for xp. The only place I know that have relatively weak pets is just outside of Castle Oztroja in the past. The summoners there summon elementals that are really weak. Can 2 shot as a 65BLM and get good xp like Newton Movapolos. The only problem with that is that there are lots of IT++ Yagudos to you and nasty Gnats. T_T.

    La Vaule [S]
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...tCamps3-10.png
The mobs here conned VT-IT to 75. The two areas marked on the above map are definitely viable. How they compare to mamool ja is hard to say. Exp/hr probably a bit less, but would be greatly improved with experience.

#1 as marked is where we went to exp tonight. We fought four different kinds of orcs
    (1)Prophetess - Blm? Sch?
    (2)Wyrmbrander - Drg? Didn't actually pop a pet
(3)Imperial Guard - Pld (went down the slowest, by far)
    (4)Dreadnought - War?
And there are a few Seneschal Imps around.

You can follow the path marked out to get to the camp very quickly. As you approach, there are two T Orcs close by, a Mnk, and a mage (Whm? Blm?). We only fought one of each, but they're good to pull to get your chain started as you move in. When you proceed to the end of the path marked out, there's a bridge. Pull some across the bridge. The first few pulls are a little tough and link-susceptible (think Nyzul Mamools). After that, it's all good if your bard knows what he's doing. If you pull from the top floor when you're on the bottom, or vice versa, the orcs will run around and you could get a fair amount of links. It's a roaming camp. As long as the puller is careful regarding links, and the healer is ready for a somewhat mp-intensive party (aoe's), you should be fine. We got about 15k/hr with a setup of: Rdm, Brd, Thf, Mnk, Mnk(lvl74), and War, only the war being hasted. I can see 20k/hr here being very viable with a party of good people that know what they're doing.

#2 - We didn't exp here, but we walked through it briefly. I didn't see any imps, but they might have escaped my eye. When I did a count, I counted at least 17 orcs. What seems cool about this camp is that unlike #1, there aren't stairs to go up and down or bridges to cross. Pulling should be a lot easier, making the party a lot smoother. Like above, the mobs conned VT and IT. I didn't catch any names/jobs, as I didn't get a good look.

Also, these appear to be viable meat camps (at least the center camp was).

    Re: New Exp/Merit Locations

The area Southwest of #1 on your map also has a lot of VT-IT Orcs. I think a lot of them were SCHs (Strategists or something like that), so they'd probably be a lot squishier than PLDs or MNKs for xp.

the yagudos up top in Castle O con VT-IT as well to 75s. We were getting good EXP there..when we were trying to see if NIN mobs dropped sneak spell (before it was found in Kazham >_<) The leech pool cons too weak, in the middle of VT-IT mobs.

We made a LS TP Burn up there yesterday (3 WAR/NINs, 2 BRDS, RDM. Fairly good equipped, Ridill, Adaberk, Speed belt, etc.). We started the roam path from the gate which leads into deeper Oztroja all the way to the top, there were more than enough Yagudo to chain with so the 16 minute repop timer wasn't a problem. Most beastmen were BRD, NIN, SAM, SMN, and were fairly evasive but had semi-low defense. We were getting around 18k an hour up there, so its a decent alternative to ToAU areas if they are crowded.

The Yagudo's TP moves were not too bad, fairly standard stuff but they have a new TP move now that gets rid of one random piece of equipment which isn't too annoying unless they remove your weapon but it doesn't happen too often. There are a couple of Gnats in the way so Erase and Paralyna will be needed. With Sigil on most mobs were giving around 150-250 XP.

Roam Path: (mind the bad paint job on these )

Gonna try on La Vaulle later tonight if possible, and further scout Beadeaux for more camps.

Killing some of the higher tier orcs in La Vaule and they are definately chainable without too much trouble. There is just one part which makes this unreliable/hard. Their counterstance move seems undispellable, hits about 300+ per and procs a LOT. This move just raped my party in a few seconds

They seem to be the perfect mobs to bring back old-school parties. That's right, the ones with tanks. I think you could get good exp with a pld there.

2Hers fare with Orcish Counterstance far better than dual wielding jobs. At least in Campaign, I can barely stand meleeing Orcs with my Ninja or Thief for long if they have counterstance, even Paladin using a joyeuse can be painful because I don't think you can shield block counters.

Came SAM to Faf, didn't notice a difference at all in the resist rate of skillchains. Most of them still did mediocre damage even when WS damage was high. I'll try to test SC damage on some lower level mobs today.

    Re: New Exp/Merit Locations

Just took a walk up to Oztroja to look at the camp myself. I suppose the best thing to do would be to roam up from the door to the top, and camp at the top of the stairs, pulling yags from that upper area, and occasionally going down to pull yags from the leech pool room, getting the mobs on those stairs in the way, and then going back up to the top. Looks to me like:
    Hierogrammat - Thf
    Nokizaru - Nin
    Flagellant - Mnk
    Yojimbo - Sam
    Abbot - Whm?
    Conductor - Brd
    Superior - Smn
Gnat - Thf (or so I read)

I saw that the Gnats checked VT-IT as well. Definitely looks to be a sushi camp. Counted about 12+ mobs at the top floor and about 6 in the leech pool room. And plenty of mobs sprawled about on the corridors.

Cool to hear you made 18k/hr with a good party, Holsety. I can see birds and mamools being better than these. Cool thing about orc camp was that its very close to the maw and telepoint. Oztroja is somewhat close to the telepoint and very close to the maw, but it takes awhile to get up to the exp area, whereas in La Vaule you don't have much running to do.
