I just found it incredibly funny that investigators originally found evidence of the dogfighting ring when they were investigating him for drug possession.

They were investigating a relative or friend of his who was in trouble for drug possession. That friend/relative listed the dog-fighting house as his residence so they want and searched the house. Thats how it all started.

Also, 23 months is longer than the guidelines set for this type of crime which was 12-18 months. I think he got what he deserved even if I do want him to rot in there longer.

Yep, you're right - that's the only difference between hunting and what Vick was doing. Nothing else between the two was different at all. Whatsoever.

23 months sounds fine I guess to me. I'll be interested to see what happens when he gets out, and I wonder if he'll "good behavior" it down a few months.

It is kinda fucked up though - Leonard Little KILLED A WOMAN in 1998 and got 90 days in jail and 4 years probation. He's still playing for the Rams btw - just signed a 3-year extension last year. Oh, but FUCK MICHAEL VICK I LOVE PUPPIES.

In all honestly, Vick got used. He's the posterboy for an affluent hobby of NFL players. The US court had the right, and exercised it completely within legal guidelines, and Vick got what is coming to him. Realistically, if it was some average joe of the streets, we all know the sentencing would have been more lienant. However, Vick is in the public spotlight, viewed and looked up to by many, so the decisions he makes have a wider impact on others than it would "joe nobody", so yeah, I think the penalty should have been more stiff than it would have for some random ring. What is fucked up however, is state charges being brought against him. I think that's just political bullshit and parading.
