Recon Level

I have looked through all the stickies and I cannot find any info on how you can help raise the Recon level of your nation, can anyone help me out with this please?

Hmmm, wouldn't Tactical Assessment be the main method? You can tell your nation to focus on Reconnaissance. Maybe "Intel" ops too?

On Ragnarok Sandy is focused on Recon but its still stuck at level 1.

I'm on my 4th ribbon and don't have access to intel ops either.

My current theory is that Recon levels can only increase if the beastmen control a zone in a nation's area of influence.

Dungeons around Jeuno don't count because they already disproved my theory.

After talking to the "national assessment" npc in Bastok about our war strategy this week, I noticed that guy gives out a TON of info on the stats of the nations, and even on the beastmmen armies. The categories look directly tied to the campaign ops that players do. It seems like to amount of ops players do for your nation this week affect what your nations stats will be in the next week.

Sandy Recon 1
Bastok Recon 3
Windy Recon 10...yes 10.

I need to ask a person from Widy how much info they can see on the beastmen nations. With bastok on recon 3 I can see info on Quadav only and not even all of it.

its a obscure injoke. "Would you like to know more" comes from the Starship Troopers movie. Whenever you watched newscasts about the war, they asked you in a bubble "Would you like to know more?" Its extremely subtle, but Im almost 100% that its a reference to the movie.

In windy at lv10 recon I can see pretty much every stat on everybody, just cant see freelance stat for the places

This could be because nobody has Freelances, at a lower level Recon I could see Bastok's Freelances. (And I'm San d'Orian)

Windy is level 8 here.. significantly higher than the other nations. Bastok is recon level 0 and Sandy level 3.

Well 3 days after the last tally here on Ragnarok and Sandy is still stuck on level 1 and Bastok on level 3.

Windy got reset back to level 0 at the tally and currently has level 1 Recon.

All areas are controlled by a nation except Garlaige.

Considering that when Windy didn't control Meriph they rocketed to level 10, I think its quite possible that you can only increase the recon level of a nation if beastmen control open areas (not the Jeuno dungeons).

If your nation owns all 6 zones, do NOT tell your nations NPC to focus on recon-type policy. It will do nothing for your nation, since you can not do any recon without beastmen owning one of your zones. Try to focus on something else your nation is doing poorly at, such as defending forts (for those without enough NPC help), or making supplies (for those with 1-2 stars in supplies, or anything else that actually does something while you have all 6 zones. Pre-emptive assaults/sabotage/recon, all do NOTHING if you have all 6 zones. And you are therefore offering council to basically "do nothing".

Pre-emptive assaults is related to NPC's intercepting the beastmen before they hit the fort, isn't it?

I firmly believe that Recon level of a nation has a lot to do with the Intel Missions. It adds up: Excluding the dungeons around Jeuno, when the beastmen have control of an area with a fort in it, you can do Intel missions. Can't do Intel missions on a friendly base, see.

On Asura, Windurst has control of everything on their end but Garlaige Citadel. And because of this, I cannot do any Intel Gathering Ops. I think in the example given of the Windurst that was lvl10 Recon, you said Meri. Mts. was under Beastmen control? I'm fairly sure Windurstians on that server spammed Hawk Eye and Slaughterhouse (Someone set us up the bomb!) to raise that Recon level pretty high. They're absurdly easy missions and Slaughterhouse at least was pretty fun.

There must be other factors, but I'd say Campaign ops is about 80% of the recon level's growth. I'm not sure how to explain the small amount of recon growth shown when a nation owns all of the regions in it's two fronts.
