New Nvidia drivers for FFXI.

I called Nvidia today (Man, this story is already hilarious) and I asked if they had planned to release 9500M drivers for FFXI.

Of course, I got the typical "Please visit Nvidia.com and download the necessary drivers, thank you!"

Fuck man, I should have spent the extra $150.00 for a slightly faster processor and ATI card

So I have this nice HP laptop 6756se with the 8400M GS gfx card with Vista SP1, and I have tried every possible driver that was posted here or else where on the laptop2go website. I have not been able to get the desired framerates at all. Has anyone been successful with fixing this problem? I have read over 20 threads all over the internet with pages and pages of suggestions, but I have not heard of any success story over the laptop chips perferming as they are supposed to do.

Found some drivers that help the 9500M for FFXI on Vista. Not getting the FPS I should be but it's better then before.

I have already said screw it and went w/ a stand alone PC for FFXI only.

X850XT + E6600 O/C'd to 3.2ghz.

I'm running some very very very old drivers for the video card.

I've tried 169.2 (I think), 174.whatever, and 175.something with my 8800GT/E6300-C2D(1.86ghz) and have gotten shitty fps on all with more than 7 or 8 ppl onscreen. I think my resolution is 1440x960ish, no shadows, min animation rate for models. I know the cpu is not near fast anymore, but given the age of the game I think it should run a little bit better. I'm pretty sure my old P4 3.2ghz/6600GT ran a good margin better. Is there a list of 'recommended' reg settings for pol in case I have something wrong?

Did anyone notice an FPS boost after yesterday's maintenance? With Vista64 and an 8800m on my laptop, I used to average 28.x and "rarely" (I stress rarely...) I would hit 29.1 in non-city zones. When I logged on yesterday after maint. was over, I was averaging 29.4 constantly. I didn't play around with it, so I don't know how shadows, etc. will affect it. I was just excited to see the 29's again. I'll post city fps later tonight...

Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help..Im currently running 32 bit Vista, on a laptop with Nforce 7000/610M Graphics card in it. I've downloaded multiple drivers and tried to install each, every one i've tried hasnt worked, I keep getting the error message after I run the set up showing an error message like: "can not find drivers to suit your hardware, set up will now terminate." I've tried just about every driver available and the only one I can find that works is the latest one but at really low FPS, Im stuck as to what to do because every driver seems to be un-suitable for my hardware. Can anyone help? Thanks
