Nothing beastly about it, but it should be a bit better than my 6 year old Compaq Desktop with a 2.6 GHz Celeron, 512 Mb of RAM and on-board graphics. >.>

Insane, the graphic of Asuran Fists now correctly syncs with the sound..... after all these years!

Haven't had a chance to test them yet, but NVIDIA released yet another updated Beta driver today, supposed to have all of the fixes that the 169.17 drivers had, plus fix a few other issues some people were having with 8 series cards. I'll be testing out both drivers on my Vista/NVIDIA 8 series system tonight ~

How in the hell do you guys find out about this shit... I normally never see it unless it's on nVidia's website. I still haven't figured out how laptopvideo2go gets these beta drivers and small releases.

I'm running on Xentera GT 4, for 4 screens. I probably can't use this, can I? FFXI is always pretty laggy, so much to the point where I've been considering getting another pc just for it lol

169.17 was never listed there...it's the small releases I'm wondering about. Like, how did someone find this 169.17 update in the first place, it was never on the beta page?

There are more problems with nVidia and FFXI apart from the 8x00 series. For the longest time certain casting effects like Utsusemi, Bard Songs and Firaga would cause nVidia cards to slow to a crawl. Can anyone confirm whether or not this fixes this problem? I'll try and test tonight when I get a chance regardless.

the stable forceware drivers from july fixed this on the 7 and 8 series cards I own. (like, 168.26 or something) so I would assume that this would -still- fix this problem: on XP; it sounds like the issues with vista (which was unrelated to the songs and firaga effects) have also been fixed with the 169 release.

Does this correct the gamma issues with the Windowed mode?

this isn't a card problem; it's an issue with how windowed mode is altering the draw path.

I really wish i could use these drivers have seeing the feedback. I'm running a Geforce go 6150,HP laptop, vista 32bit. I've installed the right way (Using the guide on their forums) It starts to install, gets near the end, then the bluescreen of death takes over. Been trying to get help on their forums but haven't had a reposes from any mods about the issue. Is anyone else having these problems? Yes I used the modded INF file, etc, etc. After the third try i give up, considering it takes me about an hour after each bluescreen to get my computer back the way it was ; ;.
