Help with Hundredfaced Hapool Ja

My LS killed it a longggg ass time ago. Trick is to have several tanks and a bunch of blm's. I think we got really lucky too. Got the drop our first try, and haven't been back since.

You do know that you can stay out of most mob AoE TP/JA moves and still be able to cast on the mob and your tanks/frontline jobs.

I come to the Advanced board to gain knowledge just like this!

Oh yes, like the above is much more advanced than what I said. The guy said he wiped following the wiki strat so I gave him some helpful tip for him if he didn't know. Maybe it was too advanced and I should've just said bring a party and kill it.

You are fighting a battle you cannot win, this is my advice to you. Just stop and dont click this thread anymore.

Back when CoP missions were hard, the LS was doing the three Mammets BC. Two people were going to kite two while everyone else killed the third. Lots of plotting and planning beforehand, THF and someone else were going to do the kiting. Leader asked if anyone had any questions, no one did.

Went in, kiter #1 ran off with his mob, everyone jumped on theirs, but kiter #2 just stood there until he died, after which his mob killed everyone else.

When asked why he had just stood there the THF (in his 60s) said he didn't know how to kite.

I used to kill this somewhat often but eventually gave up because the Katana never dropped and I stopped caring about it. It's possible to do with three people, although it exploits of 'bug' of sorts. It seems that if you pull a mob with a ranged attack and miss, you won't lose hate to someone curing you.

To kill this NM in the fasion I did, you'll need a kiter, a healer, and a damage dealer. You begin by training Hapool Ja to the zone around G-10 on the map. After rezoning, wait until it walks back and is about the drop off the ledge. The kiter then pulls with a ranged attack and kites in a square like pattern through the tunnels in F-9. The copies run slower than Hapool Ja so you will need to take special care when doing this. You can die quickly from Firespit spam if they end up seperating and surround you. You will end up taking some damage but your healer should be able to keep you alive. Your damage dealer should be doing damage then zoning. Hate will go right back to the kiter, not the healer.

The set up I used was NIN(kiter), MNK(Chi-Blast DD, it works well because it's single target and goes through Utsusemi) and WHM, although we had a BRD to keep the WHM refreshed. I'm confident MNK + 2xRDM(go magic defense bonus) could easily trio this NM. I can't remember if the copies have shared hate or not. If they don't, you could probably just have someone decoy them away while you worked on the NM with 2-3 people.

Wow, my intention was to get some information about the fight. lol. Anyways, even if the katana is worthless, I wouldn't mind killing him for pure spite. He killed me sooo many times when I was logging there. It was annoying.

if you kill all the mamools in the zone it will lock his 2hr and him or his copies wont blow up :rocl: and if you bring an alliance of lvl 1 pups with you you can kill him pretty fast.
