New March tier with elitest gear?

I was just testing this for myself without having noticed this thread...I get

466-477 skill: 54/512 (10.55%)
479-485 skill: 55/512 (10.74%)
486-505 skill: 56/512 (10.94%)
507-510 skill: 57/512 (11.13%)

Faerie Piccolo adds about 16/512 (3.125%). The very strange thing is that the skill bumps happen in different places when I sing without Faerie Piccolo:

491 skill: 39/512
492 skill: 40/512

I'm not sure how to explain that. Perhaps the Faerie Piccolo effect is calculated before the conversion to x/512. That might also have something to do with how the skill bumps are also oddly spaced, they don't happen every N skill.

Interesting to see that it keeps going up into max skill range, guess I'll have to start carrying more skill.

I'm still in the process of doing some tests of my own, so I'll wait a bit before making a big post. My data is a bit different, but I'm noticing a pattern in the skill ranges. My best explaination at this point is that the increments are happening at x/1024ths. Between rounding/truncating and our limited ability to test for minute changes in haste%, it will be hard to show conclusively.

i don't run anything that could somehow tell me its 59-60-61/512

I test with Hasso Dread Spikes, which has high enough recast (270 sec) that you can see the differences pretty easily. Usually the Spikes recast will only tell you that it's, say, -55 or -56/512, but by testing with additional Haste gear you can tell the difference. For instance:

479-505 skill gives 4:00 recast -> -55 or -56/512
(512-55)/512*270 = 240.996
(512-56)/512*270 = 240.469

But adding Dusk Gloves for 3% more Haste I can see the difference:
(512-55-15)/512*270 = 233.086
(512-56-15)/512*270 = 232.559

so I can determine that it changes from -55 to -56 at 486 skill.

x/1024 is harder to see, since one second of Spikes recast covers ~4 possible values, but we can still figure it out at the margins. The 486 skill bump would then be -110 to -111/1024, with Dusk Gloves adding -30 (3% of 1024 is 30.72).

The bump at 492 skill would be from 79/1024 to 80/1024, with Faerie Piccolo adding 32/1024 for -111 to -112.

With x/1024, any Haste gear that gives 5% or more should give a little more than the combination of smaller pieces: 5% of 1024 is 51.2, so Turban should be 51/1024, whereas Dusk Gloves+Ledelsens would be 50/1024.

Dumb question. Knowing that we are looking at march II with these numbers, does march I scale in the same skill range? So are we actually squeaking out 2% across both songs (1 for each). Or is this only march II thats scaling.

After reading this and the Haste post in the newbie fourms, then it would lead to the idea that is both were scaling the same we would possibly hit the magic haste cap with Soul Voiced march only. (Again this is assuming that SV March is exactly double, which im not sure has been proven in the haste post)

March II: 56/512 (10.9375%)

Magic Haste Cap = 224/512 (43.75%)


Buffed Marchs @ 553 skill
March I (48+5)/512 (10.35%)
March II (56+5)/512 (11.91%)
Together 114/512 (22.265%)

SV (assuming perfect double)

228/512 (44.53%) but this is capped at 43.75%

This would actually mean that you only needed to hit that 224 cap, which would be attainable at:

March I @ 52/512 & March II @ 60/512 which is the 546-552 skill range. Which sadly still requires a Gjallarhorn.

So I guess my questions are:
1) does March I scale the same.
2) does SV perfectly double the haste on March.

March 1 is capped. I tested that. March appears to be doubled in potency during Soul Voice~

Sorry for the slightly noobish/off topic question, but are there any other songs we know of aside from March that have higher tiers at 500+? I know Minuet caps well before 506. BRD is my 3rd job so I don't worry about it being A+, but I'd like to at least hit the 506 mark, and I'm just curious if I'll gain anything out of it than another % on March?

Higher level etudes are +14 at 450-474 skill, then +15 at 475-485, tested a long time ago.
