It's easy to detect that someone is logging on from a different ISP than usual, by looking at the IP address and resolving the overall host. So I don't see why they couldn't just implement an extra level of security for that instance and not for all.
The questions don't even have to be that hard, could be as simple as asking you some mundane things about your character only you would know. Where you're HP'd, what level your brd is, etc. etc.
I don't know if anyone has posted a link to this page here, but I am going to because I think it will benefit everyone. A friend of mine that I went to high school with that has a degree in computer science told me that he thinks its better to run more than 1 anti-virus program if you think you are infected. This link, [url] http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ [url] , is a link to a web-based anti-virus program that you can run in addition to any other one you might have on your computer. A lot of computer viruses come out each month, over 200 I believe, and I think there is no harm in running more than I. I don't want anyone else to get hackedI hope this helps.
Edit: some what fixed the link, i'm tired and its working, sorry its not in the best format :z
The correct word to use in this case is actually "assure" or: make safe; give confidence to.Originally Posted by Skeetaru
Both ensure and insure connote that something is being underwritten by an insurance company in order to guarantee protection from loss.
Note: Just because it's a synonym doesn't mean the words are interchangeable...a lot of synonyms are only pointed out by dictionary editors because they are so commonly misused.

Ryko is wrong again....according to the 2 most respected dictionaries, the word ensure has definite connotations of insurance and guarantee from risk...
He might not have made himself look like a total douche but he said something really stupid...

I don't see why people say to keep a password in a text file and copy/paste it every time. If you are infect, don't do anything until the infection is gone. Hijack this or command prompt to find the running processes including those nested in svchost and kill them.
It took you a mile long post to say "It could mean 'to guarantee against loss or harm.'"? No shit.
(This is a joke, if you sit there and cry that something using it as a name doesn't mean they were humping a dictionary then you're a lost cause.)

<Ryko> I AM RIGHT, THE OED AND MW IS WRONG.
Wow..you are really stupid. (that means dull-witted)
Since you apparently don't take the time to look up definitions, here's what insure means:
Main Entry:in£sure
Pronunciation:*n*sh*(*)r, -**
Function:verb
Inflected Form:-ed/-ing/-s
Etymology:Middle English insuren, probably alteration (influenced by in- 2in-) of assuren to assure * more at ASSURE
transitive verb
1 obsolete : to declare to with confidence : ASSURE : promise solemnly
2 : to assure against a loss by a contingent event on certain stipulated conditions or at a given rate or premium : give, take, or procure an insurance on or for : enter into or carry a contract of insurance on — used of either the person who pays the insurance premiums or the society, corporation, or underwriter that undertakes the risk as subject and of the thing to which the risk attaches (as life or property) or the sum secured as object
3 : ENSURE 3
intransitive verb : to contract to give insurance : UNDERWRITE; also : to procure or effect insurance
synonyms see ENSURE

Well I'm right.....
People were arguing over whether to use insure or ensure and I pointed out the proper word to use and ryko said some really stupid bullshit and I called him on it...
lol.............
The only thing I was forceful on was to say that ensure didn't share a meaning with it in the slightest. The rest of it was dead on, and I didn't say the dictionary was wrong. What I was saying is that when you are using the term ensure (unless you have a hardon for being contradictory) you don't mean to tell someone that there's an underwriting process. To take it to an extreme, when you say assure could you mean the same thing as the other 2 words? Yes, but that's not what you're using the word for. Furthermore do you just get a hardon thinking the other guy is typing in caps?
If precision is your aim, there is often only 1 or 2 words that you can use...if you just want to get the point across and don't care much for precision, then there are dozens of words you can use that the average English reader will be able to read and have a decent understanding of what you mean. No need to get all anal and throw around outlandish statements...
The only thing that Ryd's dictionary quote has proven was that assure and ensure are synonyms and ensure can also relate to an underwriting as in an insurance policy.
You better watch out, he might quote his IQ at you. That's when the gloves come off.Originally Posted by Ryko

You made a 4 mile long post including the etymology of 2 (of three) words that can be considered synonyms in common speech maybe once in a million times, and I'm being anal? This is where I continue to point out that "assure" could mean the exact same thing and would also "mean that it has an underwriting process", right?Originally Posted by rydiu
