    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

I actually spin Quadavs so their back faces the NPC's, I don't want them getting insta-raped by the 2nd Legion.

NPC's not having Enmity is kind of annoying, but I can deal with it as a tank, did a Karugo fight earlier, go out, grab a mob, voke it and kite it to the NPC's, stand there and take/heal my damage while they wail on it, lather rinse repeat for 1400 Exp in a fairly short fight.

It'd be nice if NPCs cured or raised you, too.

Gravity is nice in this situation, but I'm usually /WHM for reraise.
Melees do not like NPCs... NPCs annoy the shit out of at least me. They kill too fast, and make less points for everyone. They're ok for if you get overrun with too many mobs, they can hold them for a little, but I wish they'd stop following a mob if I pull it away from the outpost.
That's a great thing to say, when there are people there. I spent a lot of my free time this weekend in the Crawler's Nest [S] to keep it under Bastok control- I could kill about two or three Quadovs before they would retreat with no NPCs there, and a stunning amount of the time it was just me and my two-box.

    And heaven forbid if Shadoweye or Shadowfang showed up. ;_;
Yeah, I agree they can be useful sometimes, especially during, say, non-JP or NA primetimes, but when you have 50 people plus 60 NPCs, Campaign sometimes gets retarded.

How about, 1 of the follower NPCs should disappear for every 3 people that sign up. So if you have 20 NPCs and 2 leader NPCs to start (10 with each leader), then they'd all be gone by the time the 60th person signed up, leaving just the 2 leader NPCs to help the group out. That way, there are plenty of NPCs when there needs to be, and less when they're just annoying.

Since SE has such a hard-on for NPCs, they can even make the one that disappears be the one with the lowest HP currently. It would relieve so much annoyance if just 5 NPCs were gone, when 15 people were there casually doing a Campaign.

I'm getting the feeling such cases are happening in beginning areas to which I would suggest avoiding. I've only ever seen more than one NPC groups in areas outside capitals. I may have seen two NPCs groups in Fort Karugo, but my memory is very fuzzy on the matter.

Death number fucking five while not flagged in campaign. ><

Attack ended. I went out to lunch/do some shopping. Came back dead.

Yeah well I just f**king level down in Campaign. >_> All right, somehow managed to break the game.

Was melee'ing double (or triple if there is such a thing) weak and this stupid campaign mob was like half dead and purple so I figure the guy tanking has enough hate so I cure 3 him and somehow thats enough to get me hate and it kills me... then I level down and think wtf just happened, the battles are still going on but I'm now dead with no sword above my head anymore and a level lower than when I started the fight.

So I get R1 and lose the exp AND get nothing for the fight itself because I was no longer participating after leveling down apparently.

    F**king POS.

    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

IIRC, Campaign mobs DO seem to have party hate.

I've been in a PT, tagged up and been buffing myself at a distance when a PT member hit a mob, died, and the mob came running across the field to deck me from what should have been a safe distance. It may be in there to prevent people from "safely" PLing people through Campaigns by buffing/curing them without being flagged.

I don't care if I'm in a Campaign party and wearing a 'PLEASE KILL ME, CAMPAIGN MOB!' sign, if I'm not flagged and in no way interact with a campaign mob or with the people who are flagged, I should not be attacked. Anything else is very, very poor design.

See above. Without PT hate, I could sit there helping without a lick of worry in the world as to getting my head removed by angry monsters. Just think of them functioning exactly like lizards and other PT-hate monsters and if you don't want to be in trouble, disband from any campaign-active PT.

Or eat angry monster death. Because if you are in a Campaign-active PT, you ARE wearing a "PLEASE KILL ME, CAMPAIGN MOB!" sign. Hate sharing is a common thing in FFXI. Stop QQing and learn how not to get killed.

I like how the Bastokans who were complaining about how it was unfair that the NPCs were too retarded to move to avoid Diamond Shell are now using that behavior to their advantage to get more points. And bragging about how overpowered their NPCs are. And claiming that the races are now all equally difficult despite the fact that they completely knocked the quads the fuck out in all 6 areas in the 2 or 3 days between quadav nerf day and the tally right after, and continue to hold all 6 areas while Windy/Sandy on most servers generally only have 5 despite Bastok being inarguably the smallest nation.

Well I did try to turn an NM once at Passhow, apparently standing on its side triggers an attack called Ore Lob that does like 2k damage and ignores shadows, so.. not doing that anymore.

Ore Lob is just a WS.

5/5/5/3 on Carby now, all of the Dungeon zones got lost, yay! Fortifications!

    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

Don't wanna get killed at all? Don't join a party that's fighting in campaign. I learned that the hard way two weeks ago, and haven't done it since. Theres a few other instances of shared party-hate in the game, so its not like its some awful tragedy nor a terrible inconvenience -- just talk in /tell or /ls if you're there just to watch, and for God's sake, don't try to curebomb someone without tags on that's fighting and expect not to get hate.

As for bastok, I'd rather have too easy of a time defending (its really not on Hades, everyone just likes to fight quads since they don't normally use a horrible rape AOE unless its softstep), than so hard that no-one on any server could gain any ground against the quads, the NPCs died the second they arrived at the fort, and it denigrated to the point where people stopped going to bastokan zones altogether.

Bastok loses just like the other zones -- the difference is that I see a lot of people actually camping pashhow, rolanberry, and even the crawlers nest, while at sandoria, I only see jugner camped, and I only see meri mountains camped for windurst.

    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

There is currently a battle in CN on my server, which Bastok has 100% ownership of, with the Beastmen at 0%. I'd like you to guess how many people are currently in that zone.

Meanwhile, Eldieme and Garlaige are nearly impossible to hold onto because NPCs are too weak and PCs can't get there easily. So, somehow, despite Diamond Shell being the supposed kryptonite to the NPC AI's Superman, Bastokan NPCs can hold an entire zone with no PC help whatsoever. All this means is that Quadav are too weak and that Bastokans have some kind of a persecution complex that makes them see everything as biased against them.

First and last thing I'm going to say to you, since you're acting as childish and short-minded as ever: did you miss the update where they adjusted the quads? Did you miss the first 2 weeks where quads hit for 300+ and slaughtered the NPCs at every corner? Did you miss the first two weeks where it took an entire 10 minutes of focused assault by an entire set of PC alliances just to take down a SINGLE regular quad?

SE adjusted the quads in response to realizing a previous oversight -- if you're that butt-hurt about how they are now, get a bunch of people on multiple forums that SE pays attention to to ask for lolorcs and yags to be weakened. As it stands on Hades, the yags are weak enough anyway, outside of 2 NMs -- Meri and the fort never last more than 10 minutes, where at least with the quads and orcs, they send multiple waves. People on Hades barely pay attention to windy zones outside of the direhards because they never send multiple waves (and people want more than 900xp per campaign battle), not because yags are suddenly so oshit hard that nobody wants to fight them.

Once again you have 0 support outside of your own crying about bastok being able to hold its own, so unless you honestly like leading these ill-fated one-man crusades, I'd give it a rest.

Your baiting will be ignored from here on out.

I missed neither the update nor the trumped-up whinging by Bastok. I guess you're the one forgetting, I did multiple Bastokan fights for the sake of argument and found none of what Bastokans were crying about, much less what you're crying about. The strongest normal quad I could find hit for 180-200 and took 3 people to kill. I can still find yagudo and orcs that strong, but strong quadavs are mysteriously absent.

I don't have a problem with orcs and yags being strong, because fighting strong monsters is fun. What I have a problem with are whiny zammites who won't be satisfied until there's an Easy Mode button on the login screen.

Additionally, you're full of shit. Just from the Campaign battles I've fought today, I ran into Kazan twice, Yaa Haqa twice, Vaa Ouzu once, and Jagidbod's Warmachine once. Every single one of these NMs, and the groups they lead, are stronger than any group of quadav I've fought since the patch, including the Adamantking.

Sticking your fingers in your ears and going "lalalala" doesn't disqualify my point that Bastok doesn't even need to fight for its zones to win them.

    Dearest Priran,

Please lay off of the crack-pipe.

Eldieme and Garlaige are impossible to hold onto because people don't go there unless it is for offensive battles. Maybe Bahamut is different than other servers, but there seems to be a group of people (myself included) who go to the Crawler's Nest to defend against the beastmen.

    Just saying.

On Diabolos, we lost CN, EN, and Gar on the tally. All 3 now have maxed or near maxed bars on their respective nations.

I just started going to GC to defend it last week, we lost it though, so been beating on Fortifications from time to time.

I really enjoyed the GC Defensive battles, I can get OPs credit for Windy, and the fights last a while generally, as it is rarely more than me and one or two people out there. So I can just pull a mob off into a side room and beat on it in peace.
