    Dear Septimus,

I realize the Standard Issue Bastokan Army Beer Goggles may be neat, and it may be fun to see Campaign through the eyes of a wino, but if you take them off once in a while and observe, you might notice something.

Have you considered that maybe, just maybe, people are intentionally trying to lose Eldieme and Garlaige because the offensive battles there are better?

    >.> I think Garlaige Defensive Battles rock.

Hang out near the NPC, wait for a horde of mobs to run past, pull one into your room, beat it to death, 1500-2k exp easy.

Garlaige offensive battles are neat because you can SA the Fortification, but it takes a dick year and a half to run from Sauromugue, to the C.A., to the actual battle, then back to the C.A. and repeat.

Nest offensive is easy, and the run from Pashow isn't too bad, the NPC is just down one hall, the Forts are all a short distance away, and it only sucks when you round the corner to find Jademaiden standing there grinning lecherously at you.

Eldieme is EZMODE, warp into Bat, turn around and you're at the Necrapolis, but it sucks hard because there is always 10-20 people there on Carby, so even when the NPC's don't show up, the Fort damage tally kicks in after 3 or 4 minutes usually and ends the battle before your tags even build up a decent amount.

Setting aside the dilemma of the requisite hivemind needed to communicate and organize something like getting an entire server to fail one specific part of a world event, there's nothing special about Garlaige and Eldieme campaign battles. There might be fewer people and the battles last longer, but you could accomplish the same thing by running off with a mob or just doing campaign somewhere similarly deserted (Sauromugue, Batallia, and Grauberg come to mind) with the added bonus of not having to walk halfway across a zone.

    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

Personally, it's because no dungeon is listed.

People's natural lazy kicks in when they see a list of names and go "OK, we're going to Jugner Forest" and they take the teleport....right to Jugner.

Crawler's, they don't think "Oh, go Pashow -> Rolanberry".

I was there with tags yesterday, nobody else was. 43 BLM does not win vs. 10 Quadav, though I Sleepgaed 8 of them and ran them to the entrance for laughs (and a KO cause I couldn't resleep them all)...which was worth 239xp after an untagged fellow Raised me.

Add three more teleports: Battalia (Necropolis), Rolanberry (Crawler's Nest), S. Champaign (Garliage). Have them drop people near the entry to each (on top of the Necropolis entry hill perhaps, just outside Crawler's and Garliage). People go where it's easy to, and those three (even though it's still easy) are less so, with Crawler's actually requiring Sneak to safely get to thanks to the wall-of-Quadav/Ochu in the way.

Heck, even a Crawler's port only would help. Garliage and Necropolis can be gotten to safely even if it's a longer stroll.

From what I've noticed, those dungeon zones are among the best zones when they are beastmen controlled, and among the worst when they are controlled by their respective nation. When beastmen controlled, battles seem to happen there more frequently, but more often than not are just fortifications with no mobs. You can just stand there smacking a fort for 2k exp, and then if you afk after, another will usually start before I'm done browsing the new posts in these forums. On the other hand when they are defending, it feels almost pointless to go, since it does take longer to get to them, sometimes the mobs take forever to show up or it ends right away. For this reason, they almost always alternate every conquest tally between nation and beastman control. However, I've noticed that sometimes the beastmen just aren't interested in taking them over--I don't know what rules decide whether beastmen will be more active an a particular zone, but this seems to be the cause. For instance, Windy had Citidel for 3 weeks in a row until they lost it, then gained it back, then lost it again. C-Nest alternated until last week when we got all 3 dungeons, but then didn't lose it, although I'd imagine we'll lose it this week (I hope anyway since it's my only decent chance of doing the Offensive and Intel Ops I should have access to since our other Op issue corrected itself). I don't know if Priran has some genuine deep-seated hatred for Bastok and its citizens, or just feels the need to try and continue to prove that he was right before when he maintained that Quadav weren't over-powered pre-nerf, but I really don't think this is related to that question.

Bastok held onto CN with the tiniest sliver missing from their bar and replaced on the Beastman bar, and I've never seen anyone else in the zone since. Eldieme and Garlaige each had a small group of players constantly camping the Campaigns there and were unable to win back either zone. So there go whatever parts of your brilliant theory I managed to glean from your wall of text before my eyeballs began boiling in their sockets.

Moreover, the dungeon thing was an example. I've been leveled by orcs and yags plenty since the patch, but the most damage I've taken from a quadav since the patch was like 900, from a Shell Bash with Counterstance up.

P.S. I am indeed the fucking boogieman. If you don't continue to ward off me and my damnable facts with your righteous hyperbole and misinformation, the Bastokan way of life itself may be at stake.

    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

Has anyone actually ever seen Bastok NPCs hit for 0 when they're behind a Quadav that used Diamond Shell? I tried turning my filters off so I could see their damage, and this stupid thing was hitting for the same damage from any angle, even though when I went behind it I was hitting for 0. I dunno if I was just testing it wrong, but it seemed to that NPCs weren't affected by Diamond Shell at all; maybe this is why the Quadavs are so easy?

Testing this sparked from a couple weeks ago when I was soloing a Quadav and 2 NPCs came from far away just to come annoy me and it was dying faster than I can kill, with them behind and Diamond Shell up.

    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

I'm gonna be daring here and say results may vary- because NPC battle strategy varies by server.

This week, the only folks missing a zone is San d'Oria, being the Necropolis. Last week, Windy and Garliage. The dungeons seem to be the universal weak spot in everyone's defenses, likely because they're the last places most go to defend (but frequently camped to attack, due to low player counts).

I see more adjustments coming as well. S-E's mostly on winter break right now, post holidays we see the first update patch in January and likely mass chaos thanks to the whole fucktarded account thefts.

Quadavs don't exactly spam it to begin with and unless there are like 6 or 7 NPCs on the same mob, they're not going to force themselves into a position where one or more NPCs are at an angle to get their damage canceled.

I'm pretty sure I've seen NPCs have their damage canceled, it's just that for the most part it's a non-issue.

    Re: Campaign Death without Tags

I'm with Bastok and despite the flaming about quads being overpowered i never really noticed, they do seem easier now than they did, but honestly aside from a handfull of NM's is pretty simple fight them.

    (not talking about NM's below)
I think the main thing is each race is annoying in its own way, quads have defence moves and mst quads can/will heal themselves, but aside from that, they arent reletively scary on the attack. Ore thingy is pretty insignificant from the normal mobs.

Yags have a defensive move (not as stronge as quads), and multi hit WS and AOE, making them a little tougher to face off than a quad, but still managable.

Orcs are pretty much like yags.

Thing is none of them are really that hard, but personally i stay away from windy zones, cause they are overpopulated and give me lag issues, and windy seems to have more BLM mobs and the aoe spam hurts shadow reliant ppl especially when its from a mob that isnt your. orc its pretty much the same.

As far as dungeons go, bastok seems to have a pretty firm girp on my sevrer to CN, while windy and sandy sturggle to hold thiers, and they seem to have more ppl camping thier dungeons than bastok does. but i think honestly it just comes down to racially, quads are less annoying than the others for lac of nasty aoe's.

Side note i dont go to Pashow, the Dancers there are retarted overpowered, 10DNC npcs whipe out an entire wave of quads and shadow in a few minutes... sucks for XP/AN.

[Edit] sorry for fuirthering the derailment of this thread, but if you dnt want to die while not in campaign, why not just log out when you afk, takes a whole 30seconds to do?
