There are a shit ton of IT-VT wyverns you could merit off in grauberg but lolwyverns, not really going to be a popular merit mob in either case. I have to admit, campaign fun is starting to lose its swagger for me >.>.

If ToAU didn't introduce a replacement to Jeuno, there would be no discussion here. Everyone would admit both expansions were very similar in amounts of content. SE can't replace main cities every expansion, you'd split up the player base for too much. Well, maybe the complaints about merit camps would be viable, but there are two VT+ camps I've seen in person alone that I've only barely heard of being tested if at all.

I dunno, personally I think that Campaign is HUGE. Im a definate casual player nowadays, and Campaign is right up my alley. Its the only thing on FFXI Ive ever been able to continously do and not get bored of/annoyed with. I think that there are already lots of nice gear out there, so Im not butt hurt that they havent really released anything (yet). This is a new and fun method to getting EXP without dealing with , which Im totally down with.

Agreed. I can pull a respectable amount of xp soloing or with a PT doing Campaign. It's fun. It's social. I like Besieged, and this is the same kind of mass PvE only on a scale that doesn't encourage lagmania. In a sense, it's the FFXI equivalent of battleground PvP- only instead of killing other players, we're facing off against squads of NPC's in a chaotic battlefield.

"Good" content is in the eye of the beholder. For you, content equates with gear and gear alone. You are missing the main thrust of the expansion if you fail to realize that Campaign covers much of the content of the expansion update. As I already said Campaign is just different content. If they had just recycled Assaults they would have been criticized for doing that too.

File-size of the expansion disc is a horrible indication of raw content. You are making assertions without much logic. What actually comes on the expansion disc? The maps for the zones and a few other things. The Campaign system is not of equal size of Besieged, but more like running several simultaneous Besieged events in open areas where other content is also occurring. And if you hadn't figured this out yet, everything in this game is about the same thing - to "kill mobs." To criticize game content on those grounds is to criticize the entire game, and actually just about every MMO, hell even most video games ever created.

In the end, you may not like the content they delivered, but this does not mean there is less content. And it certainly does not mean that they will put out the next update any faster because there was "less content." The amount of development time does not change just because you do not like Campaign.

There is less content, that is a fact. And even if it is in the eye of the beholder, most are saying there isn't any reason to get involved in the expansion. And you know what, they're right.

Campaign has been patched like what, 6 times now and they still haven't gotten it right. It isn't a terrible event but there is little reason to do it right now over other alternatives in the game and if that is the saving grace of the expansion and your arguement for it, I don't know what else to say.

Could you provide the "factual" information for this being less content? You did say it was a fact, and facts can be proven.

Campaign is a persistent version of Besieged, far larger, more complicated and individualized. There are also far more missions related to Campaign (even if less complicated) than Assault.

Content is not about file size. And gear is only one (small) part of content. Everything gets patched after an expansion, and the fact that most of the patches have been good tweaks along with fixes means that they are actually being proactive about making it better rather than their old approach of just making it work and not considering the game play aspect.
