Yeah, that's about right. Meat mithkabobs for the win. OHat may be ugly, but I'll be damned if it doesn't do more for your damage output than Turban eating meat on lolibris.

So much more economical to take cheap kabobs and swap in more Acc than spam through sushi.

So much less gimp than not using food at all.

That aside, the answer, as with all things, is "shit's situational". I generally stick with PCC most of the time (since missed hits do more to gimp damage than losing a little bit of Att or fTP on one hit), but in situations where there's a wide mob-level variation I'll swap between Gorget and PCC depending on mob.

For example, in a 1 BRD party at the Jade Sepulcher camp, I'll use PCC on the more evasive Mamools and Breeze on Puks and mage Mamools.

Re: What do you wear on neck for Jin?

Who gives a shit about your neck when you are too gimp to eat food? Osode and Shura Togi aren't even comparable btw. Neither is Hope/Gorget/PCC/Chiv and Spike btw. Missing one hit on Jin will give you less damage then adding 3str3dex..

imo, Hope>Gorget/PCC>Chiv. Your WS gear depends alot on your playstyle as well. Are you a Sushi NIN or a Meat NIN. (obviously, YOU are neither on Colibri so w/e) MEat NINs will need more Acc, so Hope or PCC. Sushi NINs can use more modifiers and less Acc so Hope/Gorget>Chiv. Also depends on your other gear, how much Acc/Dex on your WS, etc. Then it depends on what you are fighting and it's evasion.

First thing, use cheap food on Colibri, then look at your gear and decide what you need. Do you need Acc to hit all 3 Hits and any Double Attacks or do you have enough and want more umph.

Re: What do you wear on neck for Jin?

    Hope>PCC>Gorget>Spike probably.
Gorget can't be compared to PCC really because while the accuracy bonus is very good, it only is added to the first hit which means the 2nd and 3rd hit plus any double attacks will suffer greatly if you are lacking accuracy.

It really all depends on what food, songs/rolls, mobs and how you gear your NIN and WS though. If you are getting like Madrigal and eating Sushi, you shouldn't need Acc from PCC. Shit is situational!

Yea, I figure most NINs would use Hope Torque full time if they had it.
6.3 acc and 6.3 atk vs 10 acc 0 atk.
6.3 atk more worthwhile than a small amount of acc like 3.7.

Re: What do you wear on neck for Jin?

2-3 stacks an hour so I'll just start brining 12-15stacks for each pt. I may have enough invintory space for that with all my gear not sure, but even still sometimes I get snatched every fight, or even twice a fight, sometimes I go 2-3 between getting snatched, but probly on average its about once every 1.5 fights, so one snatch ever 45 seconds or so, adds up to around 80 kabobs an hour. either way it doesnt make too much difference, you are right, meat kabobs are pretty damn cheap if you can carry enough, but what about the time it takes to use a kabob 1-2 seconds or so, even if its short you just missed 100+ damage worth of DoT and I doubt the meat mith is going to consistantly add that to your WS which imo makes it somewhat of a moot point in the first place. and I typically parse around 85% acc (melee non WS) on g.colibri with 1 min/march and no food.

Anyhow I can appreciate the opinions on food, but I'd like to especially thank those of you who gave input to my question on neck peices.

Re: What do you wear on neck for Jin?

The reason I included the spike necklace btw is that on Mamool/puk or Imp/fly parties I usually parse about 95-96% acc and miss an attack on WS maybe ever 4th or 5th WS? in that situation I'm more concerned with boosting damage than improving acc. One solution would be to keep gear the same and switch to meat but for some reason poor acc just bothers me. I'm unsure weather the 3dex/3str would add more damage than the Breeze Gorget effecting only the first strike. Any thoughts on this?

Was this even comfirmed, I thought it was determined that the Damage boost was only for the first hit, but the accuracy was added to every hit in the WS.

Re: What do you wear on neck for Jin?

It was confirmed by Nagamaki I think his name was, spharai MNK, don't remember the server.
He had very detailed data tests on WS accuracies, think he used Slug Shot with Gorget on NIN/RNG parsing with Gorget, PCC, no neck piece or something, and Asuran Fists on MNK. Parsing only for accuracy he had shown the gorget was the highest accuracy with slugshot (which it should be because its 10% acc bonus or w/e).
On Asuran Fists accuracy, gorget had come out considerably lower than PCC I believe.
Too lazy to find the thread, it was a while ago, but the data was very good and definitely proved that the accuracy bonus only applied to the first hit.

I would use a gorget, but if Nagamaki proved it only proc'd on the first hit, the Hope Torque would probably be best.

There wasn't enough data to confirm significance, so less "confirmed" and more "suggested"

It did, the data was great, but there wasn't enough data to prove significance.

Re: What do you wear on neck for Jin?

Unfortunately hope torques arent an option for some of us. Our drop rate has been 2/25+ and the torques go to rngs first because they can put better use to them for the ls (though im not sure what fight we would bring rngs to anymore anyway). Anyway with everyones ZOMG YOU DONT EATZ THE FOOD? attitude its a moot point.

OP asked what is better when you are not using food = using attack food as far as your ws acc is concerned. Personally I bring a few stacks of mithkabobs with me, but after i blow through 2-3 stacks im not stopping to run back to town and im not filling up 9 inventory slots with mithkabobs for a 3 hr party.

Ive been using the gorget, but I just bought a pcc and was planning on using that for sure. Im thinking with 8 katana merits I dont miss much, but the little boost I would get from spike over a pcc, wouldnt be enough to negate that 1 missed hit on jin once every 3-4 ws.

Not eating food in any kind of PT on any mob is the first sign of a gimp party/player.

Re: What do you wear on neck for Jin?

Serious meriting: TP PCC, WS Breeze Gorget
Sky/Besieged/etc: TP Hope Torque, WS Breeze Gorget

Reasoning: From my observation and limited testing, the average difference between Hope Torque and Breeze Gorget on Jin is inconsequential as long as my accuracy isn't severely lacking in the first place. If the mean WS damage isn't different (Admittedly, nobody has done enough testing with real-life merit situations to say if it is), may as well go with the one that offers a slightly higher peak damage just to amuse myself.

Since people never seem to use them anymore, where does Spectacles fit into all of this these days (I know not All Jobs, but NIN, SAM, MNK among others can use them after all).

E.g. PCC/Torques is better for Jin/Asuran, but would Spectacles be better then Gorget or worse?
