I still think Roger Marris is the best home run hitter ever, even though his record got destroyed in the last few years. All the people who are breaking his old record look like fucking giants so its not hard to guess that they are on some kind of juice.

(for those who don't know, Roger Marris was the player to beat Babe Ruth's home run record with 61 home runs in one season. This record was only beaten within the last decade)

I also agree that it's bullshit that Palmeiro is not tried for perjury after he made such a definitive statement to Congress. I'm sure they could have dug up evidence that he took steroids before he made that statement.

Once the report comes out, I think baseball should not do anything to punish these guys. Yes, they should be criticized by the media and hated on by the fans, but MLB shouldn't do anything. It would be hypocritical if they were to punish the players and pretend MLB itself was without fault. They didn't ban steroids until 1991 and didn't test for steroids until 2002. Failing a drug test was a slap on the wrist until 2005.

Hell, I think would be taking steroids if I were a baseball player a few years ago and I knew something like 40% of my fellow players were using without getting punished, and some even marketed by MLB because of their power numbers. (40% was a number that David Wells speculated were using)

We as fans should hate these "cheaters" for cheapening the game but MLB should be hated just the same.

Best homerun hitter ever? hardly, he isn't even in the HoF. Mantle would have that title if it weren't for his drinking habits and leg injuries.

Jury on Gagne is still out had a good First half but went to shit when he was traded and in a pennant race. Guillermo Mota last 3 seasons have been in the range of Garbage-mediocre. David Riske and Soloman torres wut?
