    Too much security ?

    Long story short I went a bit overboard on web security applications during the hackings and I'm now trying to figure out the best way to align them all.

    Currently I'm running;

    AVG Free version
    AVG Anti-spyware
    Peer Guardian v2
    Process Guardian
    Spybot
    Firefox has no script and adblock plus
    Windows' firewall is off.
    I'm on a cable modem.

    I do have a paid for zone alarm full version but stopped using it because it was blocking torrents and ffxi.

    I think process guardian may be tripping over some of the other stuff and I'm having a real problem getting Peer guardian to allow me onto ffxi. Any suggestions, I'm not so good with configuring this stuff to work ...

    You have no firewall. Use Zonealarm or Windows Firewall, not both, but be sure you have one on. You can define trusted applications in Zonealarm, just define FFXI and your torrent program as "trusted" and it should let all the traffic through the firewall.

    Getting PG2 to work with FFXI is a huge pain in the ass, but the only time you really need to use PG2 is when you're torrenting (so just don't torrent and FFXI at the same time)

    Get a router, don't use a firewall (if you do, dont use crappy ones *cough*Zonealarm*cough*)..

    Thanks for the advice, got a firewall now. Router is a no go due to the crappy usb modem that my ISP gave me, their service isn't compatible with anything else.

    I'm giving up on peer guardian + ffxi for now. There seems to be no way to allow Square's IP's as they change so often. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    wtf kinda shitty isp gives only usb modems>.>?
