At this point, the logs would be nice, but confirmation of those TP moves would be nice with a pic. The mention of those TP moves is what made me have to inquire about Apkallu hate once more, even though it feels like beating a dead horse.

they had only taken the boat one time away from Al Zahbi and were headed back. They had not killed any Apkallu (in fact, I don't believe they have ever killed ANY Apkallu in their career).Originally Posted by TacoTaru
There were a total of 5 people on the boat headed to Nashmau beforehand. Only one Apkallu popped on the way there from what I'm being told and it popped immediately. The other group claimed and killed immediately.
It was mentioned that (and this might not be fact) the birds you hear near the end of the trip flying overhead was very noticeable. More than usual as Mashiara used to take the boat back and forth with me a long time ago. I was not there for that part so I have no real comment on that.
Here are some quick logs, he seemed to be a Monk type mob.
He really did seem to spam Yawn at the very beginning of fight, as both WHM spent first 5 minutes asleep. Had to use a Bene to save WAR's life when we finally got up.

So if this is fully legit, which I have no reason to doubt reading the chat logs and seeing the damage it pulled off, possible spawn conditions can include Darksday, 24 hrs without killing an Apkallu, or just a random chance of him spawning. I see no weather in the posts. Where any of the other monsters on board up at the time he popped? And did he pop at the start of the ride?
Looks like he has massive regain as well.
If we read into the "Rides to Nashmau but doesn't ride back" then it could be a possible lottery off of the WG > Nash ship as well, since we have confirmed that one was killed, then next trip it popped. I don't know if this is possible though considering it's two different zones and afaik no PH exists in one zone and the NM in another for any other NM.
There was only the Cyan Deep Pugil up. And he was moving around when we got up to the deck, which we ran up as soon as we zoned in. His name was up and everything, it wasn't as though he was in mid-jump when we got onto the deck.Originally Posted by ByeByeTasai
We didn't set out with a gameplan on camping on this, as I am really leaning to it being a random spawn.
you only had one warrior on this and he spammed TP moves every two attacks or so it seems. Also do you know if the group had been killing any Apkallus on the Nash > WG boat at all so we can officially rule out 24 hrs without killing birds on Nash > WG?
And whoever can talk to the jp guy with the cape, try to ask him if he killed Apkallu on darksday, or maybe even lightsday in case its a weekend only pop.
Honestly not sure on the group, but they didn't seem to be camping as much as going to Nashmau, as they were just killing anything that was on the boat. I know my friend had been on the boat yesterday (not in this party) who had killed Apkallu on the Nashmau > Whitegate boat, though I cannot confirm it was more or less than 24 hours.Originally Posted by ByeByeTasai
I heard that loud mass of birds when a large PT went to nashmau once when AC was gone, i thought it was normal.
And here I had given up on this shit and someone just happens to stumble across it. Craaaap. ><
The sound effects of the birds are heard at the end of the boat ride at least 90% of the time if not 100%. He is stating that the birds were heard from the beginning of the trip.
I thought he just said it was "more noticable", which I doubt means anything.Originally Posted by ByeByeTasai
Does it have any significance that he spawned for a pt of 3?
Aieee, if it is then my guess at 3 meant something lolOriginally Posted by NozE8
I don't know.. i'm still skeptical. If AA is supposed to have enstun, you would see AA hits xxx for 50 dmg, Additional Effect: Stun. In the chat log. Also, the size is of a normal apkallu, whereas AA is supposed to be huge. Lastly, if you notice in those screens, AA is hitting per hit for about the same as the kraken is, kind of odd, no?
If it was simply a .dat switch, it would be an apkallu using kraken moves though wouldn't it?
If anything it would be a dat swap of a normal apkallu. I dunno maybe im way off base its just those screens creates more questions than they answer.

Yesterday on Ramuh I spent over 9 hours camping this idiot bird. Through an entire full moon phase, hoping to solo this as Drg/Blm. I had my HP set in nashmau and I would warp as soon as the boat docked in whitegate and quickly catch the next available boat
The results are...... Not a damn thing. I am starting to slightly believe that there needs to be more than 1 person present as a spawn condition.
Through the 9+ hours that I camped, I was by myself on every single occasion except 1, when a 32cor caught a lift and was fishing for 1 trip only. He caught monster and got raped, I never saw that little fella again.
The only thing of note was that on one trip i saw 2 apkallu spawn but i have no idea if they were 7 and 8 or just a repeat of one of them. Some trips I would see only 1 crab the whole journey, some trips I would see lots of stuff, AA tho remains elusive.
I need those damn Skanda boots so i can test them for my Drg.
If anyone on ramuh wants to make a co-ordinated group camping effort for this bird send a /tell to Loziel or a PM me.
Just got a few SS's from Charly on asura who also popped this.

I was also linked to a video (which I won't link to incase I rape his bandwidth / also it's still downloading) but if there's SS's I'll try and extract some screens.
The only thing I see in common is people were in a party both times it popped.
Maybe SE did some ninja fix on Christmas as a gift to everyone?
Glad to see people are popping it and sharing the info. :ashira:
