I still think it has to do with killing the other mobs on the boat and not Apkallus. I noticed after riding the boat a lot and just killing the normal mobs and not the Apkallus the frequency of Apkallus jumping on the boat came more frequently.

Could just be me becoming really bored and only looking for Apkallus but you never know.

I think you're completely full of shit. The two recent sightings were when the boat had just left port, and one of them even stated that they probley have never killed an Apkallu before.

Also when people say that they heard birds before the docked, I noticed those blue birds usually fly next to the ship right before you dock a lot. So I wouldn't have that really be a signal that it might pop, never heard of a sound being a pop condition hehe.

Didn't some one say that Apkallu came up on the right side, unless I misread where some one said they saw Apkallu come up from the ocean on the 3 recorded sightings? I have seen probably around 2 Apkallu come up on the right side.

Talk to JP friend who has this item.. There are few things that can help this pop. I will give hint The NM does NOT like to be alone and the rest is luck. Which means other things must pop on the ship before the NM has a chance to pop.

Another Hint: He will only pop if HIS friends are on the ship!

Reading that interview, you'd see they say "If everyone ignores him, he will leave the area, as he doesn't stay put for long periods of time."
?? meaning opponent or challenger, and used in ??????, meaning to ignore or disregard something.

There is no inference of 'needing a friend' that stems from it. The official translation given is fine, as it keeps the intended meaning, but I don't think they realize how intensely players read into these hints. Or maybe they do and they like screwing with us.

charly camped 19-26hours from the tod yesterday and nothing... he's suggested that its possible 2 people saw that AA close together because it's possible that it has a huge window they were both closing in on the end or something... but everything is up in the air now

i read the first thread a while back before it was locked, so i don't remember all of what was examined but what if proteus and AA share the same pop window, and perhaps is 18-30 like argus/LK? i guess i'm mentioning this because it doesn't look as if anyone has camped it past the 26 hour mark as far as marathon-camping goes

might be something to consider? idk

it's possible, but there would have to be more worked into it because people still don't see it in memory weeks after a maintainance, and i think no one has a problem seeing proteus, so theres a chance it could be related, but other factors would likely be involved

Hehe while we were camping Almighty Akpallu Proteus actually popped but I forgot to write down the time. It was like making about 100k though haha...

That is a good chance though, I don't think SE would stray away from their normal weird ass pop patterns.
