so you want to make
c:\documents and settings\remy0likescheese to c:\documents and settings\remy0hatescheese ?
just create a new user with the name you want to use and copy the stuff over... it wont work with games or programs that save stuff into your documents folder, though. thats why windows wont let you do it
wanted to avoid having to copy things over. I'm not worried about it now was using a program and it showed the name from my folder as a username which was my full name and didn't really like that but it isn't a huge deal.Originally Posted by Killgannon
There's a registry key for it, but there are many programs out there that store information within that folder. So if you were to change it, it may mess up other things.
It shouldn't mess anything up if you change the right registry keys because those programs get the path from the registry.
Try using TweakUI.. I think it has the option to change it in there.
They grab the path from the registry when they are installed or run first. They may update it when you run the program, they are all different. Also, TweakUI doesn't have an option for this.Originally Posted by Snowknight26
