Ah so in other words I'm fuckedI haven't even use the Biotics much. I just run in with my trusty shotgun and start shooting everything in sight.
No, as long as you use a tech person in your party and level electronics/decryption on it you're fine. I used tali for all my lockpicking needs on my first runthrough and am using Garrus this time.
Was there any technical reason why the fucking gun on the mako has no mobility at all and only fires on a horizontal plane? Otherwise, loving the game.
Because bioware is full of douchebags who didn't test the game enoughOriginally Posted by Xavier

Except it still has no mobility. It works well enough with the rockets because they have splash damage, but the bullets have almost no correlation to the cross-hair. Don't get me wrong, I'm in love with the game, and I even actually like driving around planets looking for random items to find, etc, just the mounted gun sucks and makes actual combat in the vehicle a pain.Originally Posted by Exoduso
Yes it's still a pain, but zooming in actually helps a bit with the regular gun.Originally Posted by Xavier
I don't even bother fighting with it though unless it's turrets, etc. Otherwise I just leave the car and attack regularly.
The one thing that really fucking pisses me off about the Mako is sometimes I will literally be right in front of one of the Geth troopers or one of the Geth mech things and I will have the crosshair on it and will miss the entire time. I usually have to go into reverse(which is hard enough without shit shooting at you!) and start shooting from another spot.
But I just set off the nuke on the one planet and the council has grounded me. So I'm thinking I'm fairly close to the end.
You're too close to the enemy probably... the gun is too big so it misses the target if it gets close enough to the mako.Originally Posted by BrillCS
And yeah, once you go to Ilos that's pretty much the end chapter (it's still pretty long, but yeah.. there's 1 more area after Ilos where the final battles take place but I won't spoil that.)
All in all I would say that I have really enjoyed Mass Effect. Supposedly it's the first entry in what will be a trilogy. So I'm fairly interested to see what happens. I haven't played FFXI in like a week because I want to finish off Mass Effect first. I don't exactly have a ton of free time so I can usually only play for an hour or two a night. Except tonight, I'm playing it through until the end since I'm off tomorrow.
If you don't plan on going after achievements and stuff I suggest you play through any and all side quests you come across, they're really a lot of fun (even though driving the mako will get repetitive and annoying) and add a lot more to the depth of the game.
And yeah it will be a trilogy (which seems to be the cool thing to do these days since just about every title that comes out claims it's a part of a trilogy.. >.>)
Sorry, the quests are really, REALLY subpar in Mass Effect. The main missions are great but the sidequests.... uchOriginally Posted by Exoduso
How many have you actually done? some sidequest stories are pretty interesting and teach you more about the protheans, the geth, etc.
Pretty much all of them... I got the completionist achievement. My problem is no matter what it is you go into one of the same 3 level layouts and fight about 10 enemies pretty much the same way as any other quest to get to conclusion that may or may not make sense. I also hated the lack of real quest lines with no real characters. It was almost all just single quests and the few that had multiple parts were just the same thing again and again.
Yeah you're right lol, I still enjoyed it though because I enjoyed the fighting...
The repetitive part sucks ass though, same building structure, same mine structure, same facility stracture, SAME TERRAINS, same mountains, same THRESHER MAWS.![]()
For some reason I still enjoy the battle system though, is that wrong or am I just not playing enough shootan games? ;x
Well I've been doing most of the side missions so far. I've actually attempted to avoid the ones where I know I need to use the Mako lol. So I've been doing the ones where it's locate the missing ship, find the evil doctor etc. I will probably sit down tonight and do the rest.
Eh, I enjoy them too to an extent but it's mostly the exp I love. I'm a sucker for leveling up and spending skill points.Originally Posted by Exoduso

God, I had no idea this was going to be a trilogy. Last I heard, there was a rumor of a sequel. Anyway, the trilogy news (or rumor?) just made my fucking night.
Mass Effect had some flaws, no doubt. But I fucking played it through 3 times and loved it each time.
