CPU Usage Question

Is it possible for something to be capping my CPU usage at 50%? While playing FFXI when it gits laggy with all the character models on the screen (uses CPU mainly to render them) my cpu boosts up to 50% but never goes any higher and my FPS drops to 15-20. I figure if my CPU goes up to 100% or so maybe it'd unlag me or something? Feedback prz.

FFXI isn't multithreaded, so it will only use one core. Since you have 2 cores, only 50% is being used.
