Nothing is quite as satisfying though as holding off an NM like Conquerer while asking for heals, not getting any, finally dying, then watching him tear through everyone else like tissue paper and wanting to say, "see, if you'd just given me a fucking cure IV the rest of you would still all be alive."
My thoughts exactly^^ which is why people like Viq end up dying afterwards, anyway viq dying to NM's isn't as bad as dying to a lowbie mob. Sometimes the need to say HP for a heal is required, and thought it would be nice to notify healers, but instead its called whining?
The added "they begin to fill /sh with how people are idiots and deserve to lose the Campaign." was a poor lie at best, only things i put in say is <hp> and ask for some help, I guess to you that means do the opposite. This is why campaign turns to crap and more deaths that necessary, but I suppose mages want people to die for the bonus of raising.

    Re: Retards and Campaign

So anyway, I spent around 45 minutes in Pashhow Marshlands [S] last night doing the Campaign That Would Not End. All said and done, Septimus after doing the warrior-stabbity thing walked away with 2200 limit points and 1104 Allied Notes. Atumre doing the White Mage cure, buff, raise everyone in sight, flash, repose, and enfeeble thing wound up with 1400 limit points and 700 Allied Notes. I think Atum dumped his whole MP pool (952 MP) at least 5 times during the event requiring resting to full.

This is a load of crap for two reasons:

First, Atum is doing what a WHM is supposed to do, and then some, but winds up with a lot less points than if he ignored his job and whacked things with his billy club.

Second, there is not enough MP in the world to keep curing everyone who needs cures. Taking a knee, even with a lot of +MP recovered while resting (Atum has a decent +24 resting MP plus refresh effect from Yigit) still takes several minutes to get back to full.

Here is what I would like to see. First a bonus to healing jobs (WHM, RDM, SMN- let's even throw in BRD, SCH, and BLM) for actually healing people. Second a huge resting MP bonus (like double or triple your clear mind and gear), so once you dump all of your MP curing players and NPCs, you can get back to curing them even faster.

Now everyone is happy. Mages can get as many points as melees from Campaign, tanks don't get as many TP moves, everyone gets cures. Hurray!

This is why I always go to Campaign on my WAR.

Same exact thing happens in Besieged too.

unfortunatley campaign is in favour for blood tanks. I can hardly touch the campaign exp of my pld with my cor DDing and buffing. When my pld walks out with 2900 limit points my cor walks out wiht 1400 or so, number 1 reason why I go pld to campaign (and because I could finally cap pld exp )

    Re: Retards and Campaign

The way exp is distributed is broken. Temporary items like in Besieged could solve that, but as long as people who already get less points have to buy them, sacrificing points and lowering the fortifications ressources at the same time, it's no option.
Temp. items should be just there for free like in Besieged.

I wish there was more of an incentive to replenish resources, such as EXP scrolls. Itd be similar to the escort quests!

Yeah, they should make a Campaign Op that gives you exp for getting resources to the forts. Oh wait...

Problem is, you get maximum 200ish xp for something that requires alot more running around than just clicking a ??? near a beastmen fort or better yet having some noob npcs listen to your orders to craft some things.

Not to mention that if the Campaign Ops do increase resources, it is only by one. Several times I did the Supply Ops the supplies in the zone did not actually increase. I do remember the last time I tried that no Campaign Battle occured between doing the Ops, so no one used the supply that I just replaced. (Damn it would suck if it only counted once per game day.)

    Re: Retards and Campaign

I have a dirty little secret, the only OP I do anymore is the Offensive/Defensive one where you go do a Campaign Battle for your nation and get over a certain amount of Exp in one or a few fights, generally it's easy to cap out the exp in one fight, so I just spam that the first couple of days into a medal, easy rank up, and moar expies.... but it does little to actually help the "war machine" keep grinding.

The point isn't to solo mobs. The point is to get all the fucking mobs off the fortifications.
The quicker you kill a mob the quicker you can get the rest. So if the point isn't to solo a mob, why the fuck are you soloing one? Unless you're kiting it, I can't see why you'd complain about the help. I mean, I guess I can see that it's okay for you to solo mobs, since you can... but since they can't they have to pull mobs off of the fortifications.

    Faulty logic, {No thanks.}

He has seperated a mob from the fortifications; it's better for him to remain solo holding his mob, since he is capable of holding the mob, while other players handle the mobs presently attacking the fort. We'll make progress even if we pull just one more beastman off the fort instead of clustering around the one he's holding. You don't even need to be kiting to make a case for this, either. I can hold 3 Vhuud Vanguards at the same time as MNK/DNC while fighting one of them. What are they doing when they're attacking me? Not attacking the fortifications.

The fort shouldn't tank while 20+ people focus on one beastman at a time...

    Re: Retards and Campaign

However, if there are 4 or 5 people out there, let the Fort tank, and do what you can with your little group.

Nothing is lamer than pulling a mob off, having a couple of people working it down with you, then having some stupid fucker -ga the whole group attacking the Fort, run around like a dipshit, and then come over to your little group like you'll be able to help his dumb ass, who then conveniently dies far enough away that the mobs will wander back close enough to link with the one you've almost beaten, and MPK you.

Also: NO, YOU CANNOT SOLO GA'DHO, I DON'T CARE HOW TOUGH YOU THINK YOU ARE, HE IS GOING TO RAPE YOU, YOUR MOTHER, BOTH OF YOUR SOULS, AND KILL YOUR DOG TOO!

If there aren't hordes of people there, and or NPC's to pull him too, he will do less damage just poking the Fort than KILLING EVERYONE HORRIBLY and making the entire battle a wash.

Every time, I tell people, let him get to the fort, pick the mobs off from the back of the group, wait til reinforcements show, or you can die, but I'm not touching that rapefest with 6 people out there, thanks.

Lots of fun too when you go to grab a mob and pull it out of the path that other mobs WILL be coming in to the Fort, someone pulls it off of you, and stands there fighting it, you warn them that death is on it's way, and they just completely ignore you.

Then up comes Ol' Hundredfist, eager to stick his big spiky great axe up your colon.

Except mobs will be off the fort for like 1 minute tops since they can't tank them?

If you come to campaign solo, be able to solo. Otherwise, form a party.

    Re: Retards and Campaign

I usually try to. COR 60, my job is designed to be a PT member. RDM/BLM, I tend to concentrate on crowd control and opportunity nukes/debuffs/cures as I can pick a target for.

Sometimes, I can't. If so, I will hammer away at a mob you're soloing with the specific intent of bringing it down faster. I want dead beastmen, lots of them. You soloing means the sooner I make your target dead, the better.

Nobody I've met soloing so far seems to mind me Dispelling every minute (more often as RDM)and closing their SC's with Slug Shots if possible as a COR. It's gotten me PT invites, which I happily accept and proceed to turn Joe Tank into a better killing machine. Party formation at Campaign is often piecemeal at best, but you make plenty of friends that way.

If you solo, and someone's helping you- try and invite them. Together, you are generally stronger than a pair of soloers. Even if the PT breaks after the fight is over, it's better than trying to do everything alone.

That I'm fine with really, but what I'm talking about is for example there is this JP nin who will run up and attack anything I'm attacking. I happened to get petrified and getting pounded and he pulled hate and then proceeded to turn around and lose that hate and get the mob back on me while I was still petrified. I don't care to share mobs with leeches like that.

Also if you're the melee rdm/nin with a joytoy and justice sword feeding my mob a fuckton of TP but not curing me when I get spammed with TP moves, you can get the fuck out.

    Edited for spelling

Exactly, if you're not going to assist the person tanking in some noticeable way, be it shortening the fight enough to matter, tossing them a cure to counter your added TP spam, or cotanking, you're generally being a hindrance.
