I don't understand all the praise FF6 getsIt's one of my least favorites, I just get so unbelievably bored when I play it.
You like 7, a shit ton of people dont like 7, whats so hard to understand? It's all personal preferance.Originally Posted by Daimen-G

Yeah, I know, I just think it's ironic when everyone calls FF7 the most overrated game ever and then proceed to fellate FF6 >_>You like 7, a shit ton of people dont like 7, whats so hard to understand? It's all personal preferance.
Xenosaga 2 is worth finishing for the story to get to the next game. Xenosaga 3 makes up for the rest in spades. You're really missing out if you don't play that one.Originally Posted by TacoTaru

Simple, FFVI had a huge cast of characters, a terrific magic system, and an insane villain who actually lived the dream and wrecked the whole world.Originally Posted by Daimen-G
FFVII has a shit-ton of fan-boys. Yes, it had other good stuff and FMV goodness, but so damn many fan-boys. The rabid and vocal fan-boys distract from an otherwise great game.
Seriously, when is the last time you saw Kefkaknight, Kefkasoul, Sixwingedangel, Kefkagod, Kefkajr, Kekfamoon, Kefkamage, Kefkareborn, or Xkefkax?
Kefka was nice because he actually managed to fuck everything up, but it sorta petered out there when his ambition of "destroying everything" just consisted of him sniping villages with a laser if they annoy him.Originally Posted by Septimus
Also, needs moar Dancing Mad.
What good is destroying the whole world if there is no one around to be miserable in it? Plus if he did manage to destroy everything, there wouldn't have been a second half to the game.Originally Posted by Murataki

I was thinking more along the lines of his nihilistic monologue during the final battle, where he says that he will reduce everything to nothingness.Originally Posted by Septimus
Chrono Trigger but as far as favorites go I dont think any Final Fantasy is in my Top 3 RPG's... I'd have to say Chrono, Suikoden 2, Xenogears... as far as FF goes FF6,7,9. Although playing through 3 right now on my DS is quite awsome. Xenosaga Episode 3 is by far the best of the 3.... I would highly advise playing through 2 and get to 3 asap.

Speaking of older RPGs I also enjoyed Secret of Mana and the Lufia series, especially Lufia and the Fortress of Doom.
I'm just the opposite I enjoyed the first one, but despised the second one.
I liked Final Fantasy VII 10 years ago when it came out but it really hasn't aged well with me. FFIV and VI are really my all time favorites. I can't wait for the DS remakes to hit.
lol @ mentioning shitty Xenosaga in this thread. Xenogears > Xenosaga and it will always remain that way, don't even mention that failure series in this thread.
Xenosaga was a game worthy of every drop of praise. Episode 3 delivers for a truly remarkable finale. As for those who disliked episode 2 and stopped there, keep in mind that the saga was planned to be 6 episodes so Ep.2 focused mainly on the story behind MOMO and Jr. Maybe that's one of the reasons people didn't like it. But it was a fun game nonetheless.
Xenogears is also a great game, however I would not count it as a prequel to Xenosaga and thus I will not compare them in quality. Both were terribly unappreciated though.
As for Final Fantasy VI, that's the FF that will remain in many people's hearts as the best game in the series, including mine. FFVII is a very good game that has been too overhyped unfortunately, and as a previous poster stated, the multitude of fan boys make me feel /disgusted of an otherwise good game. The incredible populary of FFVII stems most likely from the ignorance born through FFVII being the first RPG for many a gamer. A technological marvel for its time, but easily overshadowed by hundreds of other games today. People just refuse to open their eyes.
Oh, and Happy 20th Anniversary to Final Fantasy :DOriginally Posted by Quote

Yes, they did cancel the other 3 episodes unfortunately![]()
However, Xenosaga was never gonna lead in Xenogears in the first place mainly because Square still owns the bigger part of the rights to it. Xenosaga was meant to be a re-envisioning of the Xenogears universe as described in Perfect Works. What Episode V was going to be was anyone's guess, but did confirm that only KOS-MOS would be present in all six installments so dunno.
Regardless, the Xenoverse is dead now. Here's to hoping that one day, a new re-envisioning will occur that will revive this unappreciated story.
Yea I knew about the whole Perfect Works thing, it was mainly just me hoping they'd die it together someway. Lame that they canceled the last three as I was intending to finish them all when they came out in one big session. Guess I'll just suck up the second one and do it for the three that's out.
Well, for starters, you didn't technically destroy the world if the world is still there, you just put a big scar in it. Also, "DESTROY THE WORLD BECAUSE I WANT TO" just seems base and childish, like a Power Rangers villain or something.Originally Posted by Septimus
