About the Nin thing its just i have no reason to use /nin w/o an endgame LS. So once I get the ok I will get it quicklly

I don't know the guy too personally. I was in BoTD with him for a short while before I left. He didn't seem like an amazing PLD at the time (I'll admit, people can change, and don't want this to seem completely like I'm attacking the guy or anything) but not having /NIN ready really is an example of what to expect, as with him, it isn't really a surprise that he has one of his only 2 necessary subs gimped.

Taking a few days after the Discsion to get all my stuff together (OP, Buffer, subs, merits) wont see any gimpyness once I transfer over

Hi, I'm the leader of BotD and Sindalf asked me in game to post here, "whether it's good or bad."

Sindalf is only 15 (probably 16 now) so he had family issues to deal with. Dinner, chores, bed time...
Sindalf doesn't have a keyboard so by the time he types something out, it's too late.

He is a nice kid and has high aspirations, his one downfall is that he doesn't listen to people. Thorjones (one of my PLDs) tried to help him out, give him some pointers. He even bought him a new sword to replace the one he had. He never took any of the advice or used the sword. We told him to get :Ni and he wouldn't. He said he didn't need it. He didn't have rdm sub at the time either. Not sure if he has it now or not. He was pretty much meritless.

In the end he was talking about how "in 2 months" his schedule was going to change and he might have to join another LS. So, I kicked him from BotD. He then applied to AZ and got shot down. He started his own dynamis LS that never got off the ground. He had some silly rule where he got to keep the 1st hundred that dropped cause he was the leader and was working on Aegis. (this was told to me from someone in thier shell and might be false.) Then I think he tried to make his own Sky LS.

He did think he could straight tank AV....

Ok, that's my side. You can do what you want. I only came here cause he asked me to. I personally run my LS without listing to stuff like this. When people apply to BotD, If I can use them, I use them and if the drama/stories others say persist, I let them go.

Here's my take on one of your new applicants..... Sindalf.... He's a buddy of mine, who i've know for i guess about a lil over a year. He's a pretty straight forward guy, i guess pretty young from another post i saw. But he's very eager, has made strides and attempts to lead various types of ls's, for engame purposes as far as i know.. he's very proud of the fact that he obtained sky/sea access pre 70(not 100% sure about sky access b4 70 though).
He's a good guy, and maybe with the right ppl behind him helping him achieve his long term goals, he'll make some ls leader proud, and glad to have him on thier side. Saw some other posts about him and his stubborness to take advice about gear and whatnot, but personally, as for my pld, i do what feels right gearwise for my pld, and i do fine. He's very confident, and if u guys dont take him, he'll fight until someone does^^ well, thats my 2cents.. sin, gl buddy, gonna miss ya on leviathan when u go, if u go, and best of luck to ya. thx for your time.. Thor never acctully bought me the Sword also I didnt listion to him beacuse what he said didnt make sense. "Enmity Def MP Ability Merits shiled all uselss" After everytime I got critizied for tring to get some merits I stoped all together didnt wanna deal with the LS yelling at me. Still BotD was a very good LS.

I am the leader of TheSwordsOfHonor linkshell on Leviathan. Sindalf was a member of a legacy version of my LS (different owner). I have known him for about 3 years now. He asked me to post a reference for him here, and so I shall. In the spirit of full disclosure, I shall tell you everything.

Sindalf is about 15~16, and so his time playing is as can be expected for his age. He was denied entrance to my linkshell due to our admittance rules (he was a no vote 4/7 of my officers). Despite this fact, he has been willing to help my LS achieve various CoP missions, and even recently helped me conquer Divine might using a strategy that was his suggestion.

Socially he was known to be a bit immature at times, but at least in his recent dealings with me this seems to have improved. He can be overconfident at times, but lots of people are so I don't hold that against him.

I was asked by him to co-lead his endgame LS, but I declined as I have little tolerance for endgame drama; therefore, I have little knowledge of it's operation or demise.

Finally my personal opinion, Sindalf has one thing few recognize. He has Heart. He continues to improve himself in game, albeit at a slower pace. He is a very helpful person, and gives his limited time to others selflessly. At one point his inexperience was difficult to overcome, but as he has accomplished most of what he has set for himself I believe he has improved in this area. I think Sindalf wouldn't be a detriment to your linkshell, and is worth considering. All I'm gonna say is, if you can make a pop tart warm, you can play FFXI, and doing either of those well doesn't have too much of a learning curve.

And what I said was, a Vitality build for an endgame Paladin is useless. No one does it anymore. The focus of bloodtanking is gone. It's all about shield skill, enmity, haste, and MP. Why would I say shield skill is useless when I have capped merits in shield?

I also said that you probably shouldn't merit enmity because of other jobs. Enmity merits are very, very strong.

I can go on and on but I think you see my point. He doesn't listen. Maybe it's not so much listening as it is comprehending things. I couldn't get through to him, I tried, he didn't listen so I gave up. I have trained many, many paladins. Most take my advice and run with it.

Now for some positives. He's one of the most helpful people I have seen. If anyone ever needed anything he was one of the first to volunteer. He never got to merit really because he was always helping out.

His enthusiasm is also a bonus. Albeit sometimes his ideas are waaaaaaaay out there. But I can't fault a guy for thinking outside the box. I'm game to try most things once just to see if they work.
