I don't really think so, Delekii. I think people tout BLU sword DoT in <insert event, XP/Dyna/etc> a bit too much, our damage is certainly superior from spells, so why not focus on that? I know our Club Skill isn't that great, but with Homam and all the acc we get, I don't see it being that much of an issue. I guess ideally you'd TP in Morrigan's Robe, with Mistilteinn offhand, a steady 2MP/tic would beat some extra sword DoT, because you could cast that much more. The more MP we have, the more effective we are, imo.

[edit]When you think of it, most of the time on BLU I have TP, more often than not under 100%, because i'm not holding TP very often, maybe a few seconds here and there when CA is up in a few seconds. If I did my math right (which I often don't :/ 60 Minutes x 60 seconds / 3 seconds for 1 tic), thats 1200 "tics" in one hour. Now, obviously you won't be getting 1200MP, you'll have 0TP sometimes, or if you're not fighting for a bit, it can drain your TP dry (Running around in Dynamis from one pull to another, Limbus zoning up floors, and of course when you WS, or use CA), but I wouldn't think it's a high estimate to say you can get an extra 800MP/hr from off handing a Mistilteinn. That's an extra what, 10~12 F.Rips or Disseverments, which has to be at least comprable to the extra DoT you'd get from off handing another sword (Not like your Mistilteinn won't hit giving some DoT as well, obviously not as much as a sword) Of course, it might not get used on extra damage, you might need an extra heal here and there, or sleep, or some such. Of course, if you gained significantly less than 800MP/hr from it, then I think it would be a poorer choice.

Overall, i think there's a valid case for using a Mistilteinn in your off hand on BLU. Looking at your comparison:

TPing in Vermy vs Other TP Bodies:

Vermy vs Homam/SH+Walahra Turban = You lose 15 (or 10 or 12) Accuracy, 5% Haste and a small chunk of MP.
Vermy vs AJ: You lose a tiny amount of Accuracy, 5% Haste and MP, and 18 Attack.

Offhand Mist vs Offhand Ifrit's Blade:

Mist: Lose 3TP/tic while you have TP, gain 1MP/tic, lose a large chunk of accuracy for your off-hand only, lose .... i'd like to say a moderate amount of DoT? Not massive? You would know this better.
Ifrit's Blade: 3 STR and +10 Attack, keep better offhand Accuracy and DoT.

I guess overall it goes more to your style of play than anything else. If I owned a Mist, i'd love to test it, maybe one day, as my friend has one. I try to keep my DoT as high as possible on BLU, ~390-400 attack without any food, but I don't think i'd mind the loss of DoT and Acc in my offhand for all that extra MP.

    Big edit.
We are talking about 1 mp per tick here, at the cost of 3tp per tick. 1mp per tick pays for 1 disseverment every... over 3 minutes or so.

    I can't think of a situation where:
    a. you are tping
    b. your melee damage matters so little that it's worth giving up the dot (and tp gain) of a better sword (we're talking almost 20 base damage, as well as about ~40 skill.. 45 skill in fact with full sword and no club merits.. that is 20% lower hit rate, and 45 less attack.)
    c. your TP is so worthless that you are willing to give up 60TP a minute for 20mp a tick

Like I said, its very much like giving up your body/head for a vermy. The only situation in which it would actually be worthwhile is if your MP situation is so dire that you really need that 20 MP for something.. if your meleeing is worthless enough to give up a second sword for a mist, then you probably shouldn't be meleeing at all..

    My TP Setup:

    http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...ndomblupic.jpg

Merits are 8/8 Sword, 8/8 Blue Magic Skill, 5/5 Physical Potency, 5/5 Magical Accuracy, 4/4 Crit, STR isn't capped

My TP gain is never a problem, I always adjust food/gear wherever I go. I switch between either Sushi+Full STR gear in almost all slots for physical spells/WS, or Meat+keep a little extra acc in my physical spells/WS. My WS on Colibiri, if not with double minuet/Dia II, my Vorpals are around 600-700ish with Mithkabob (@ Nyuzl birds), only WS piece i'm really missing are Morrigan's Robe (i'm too poor ) and an AJ (>_>). I'm really curious where all these very consistent BLU get 900-1K+ Vorpal Blades, unless they are in constant 2 BRD PTs, which I guess is possible.

I rarely PT on BLU, since my server is hell for LFG. I find with Sushi+Full STR my spells get better results than meat+extra acc, for a slight improvement in DoT and moderate improvement in WS. Meat+Madrigal is better overall than both. If i'm in a Sushi+Full STR setup, the Mist is still gonna hit alot, sure for lower damage, but BLU's job in XP isn't just damage. I guess in "ideal" setup, it would be better to have an off-hand sword, but if I held my breath for ideal setups everytime I felt like doing anything on BLU, i'd never leave my MH I'd really like to toy around with one to see if the TP drain is really that god awful. My last 2-3 PT had BRD + RDM @ Nyuzl, and between Refresh, Sanction, Auto-Refresh, and MP Drainkiss, I was still dropping to 350-400ish MP by the time it's recast was up.

I think overall, it depends on play style, what jobs you have in PT, and other gear choices/spell setup. My TP setup isn't "the best", but i'd say it's pretty solid. The way you put it as 60TP=20MP + loss of DoT, it really depends what you're doing, how much refresh you're getting. I just don't think it's as cut and dry as you say, it's much more different than meleeing in a Vermy

[edit #2]My Tiphia Sting not on in that SS few random piece missing >_> But i took that SS last weekish and was lazy to go back to MH for 1-2 piece

ok, let me put it this way:

if you have enough accuracy to make wielding a club worthwhile when you have full sword merits and no club merits, use two swords and eat meat. If you are already eating meat, change some of your accuracy gear. There is a 40 accuracy discrepancy between club and sword, which is more than frikken sushi gives.
