Accounts Banned (Dec. 19)

We would like to report the termination today of multiple accounts held by players involved in the usage of third-party tools or cheats, or engaged in RMT (Real Money Trading) activities.

Based on the results of our investigation, around 12,460 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while around 1,470 accounts were temporarily suspended.
Additionally, we have increased the number of mass bannings against certain PlayOnline violations in order to prevent illegal acts.

Details of the violations are as follows:

- Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement.
November 16, Approx. 690 cases
November 20, Approx. 350 cases
December 3, Approx. 130 cases
December 5, Approx. 60 cases
December 7, Approx. 80 cases
December 10, Approx. 110 cases
December 17, Approx. 330 cases

- Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear.
December 19, Approx. 70 cases

- Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action.
November 19, Approx. 870 cases
November 21, Approx. 840 cases
November 28, Approx. 360 cases
December 5, Approx. 850 cases
December 13, Approx. 680 cases

- Gil and item exchange for real world money.
November 15, Approx. 20 cases
November 28, Approx. 10 cases
December 3, Approx. 110 cases
December 13, Approx. 70 cases
December 19, Approx. 530 cases

- Instances of areas or monster monopolization.
November 16, Approx. 140 cases
November 21, Approx. 280 cases
November 29, Approx. 50 cases
December 6, Approx. 260 cases

- Usage of synthesis and auction houses for RMT activities.
November 15, Approx. 970 cases

- Accounts from people that were previously confirmed to have RMT connections, or that had violated the user agreements but re-subscribed to PlayOnline.

The termination of these accounts has led to the removal of approximately 3.7 billion gil from circulation.

We would like to remind players that as well as adversely affecting game balance, the use of third-party tools or cheats can also have consequences that are not immediately obvious, such as introducing damaging viruses, and comprising the security of private account details. Usage of third-party tools will not be tolerated within FINAL FANTASY XI, and we will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

As we continue to ensure a fun and balanced environment for FINAL FANTASY XI, we hope that our players enjoy the game as it was intended and take care to avoid involvement in activities that violate the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

Looks like about 1-2k were banned after that thread popped up, so can't be THAT many...I'm sure not all of the accounts banned were compromised accounts.

I wonder if they banned the RMTs using WotG. They're creating new characters, fleehacking to Sandoria_S, doing the Angel/Deathstone quests, funneling the stones to a character, deleting the character, and starting again. Aness is the destination for the Caitsith stones, but a little FFXIAH investigating says the same thing is happening on several servers. One name is doing nothing but buying Prism Powders to get the accounts through the zones and selling the spoils. LSmate GMed them for the blatant fleehacking last night, but last I heard he still hadn't been contacted by anyone.

Even if they banned real player accounts they CAN unban em i know someone from my old LS was once banned but was later unbanned cos he had the exact same toon name someone else who was meant to be banned ON ANOTHER SERVER.

And to think it all could have been easily avoided by putting a small level requirment of 30 on the quest.

Main RMT still playing on Sylph, actually they are standing right beside me, and I keep submitting the group over and over. So far SE have banned this RMT group several times, and they still remember me (I'm usually always camping against them), I dont know how their group is still operating, but they have been successful, with the addition of stolen accounts.

Currently on Sylph they are farming the usual: O.Kote,Bomb Core, Angel Skin, Phantom Tathlum, Amemet skins - All cheap now but they are doing everything possible, soon will have enough force to go back to Bakgodek.

Names: Skygod, Jinlian, Kylintwo, Shoxx etc


Anyways I'm glad the Special Task Force is doing a decent job at the moment and I understand not every RMT is gonna be removed, but its so much better now since the bannings
