Finding the right race/Lv/job combination is only for the NQ Dream Boots and the furnishing from last years event. All the other stuff, including the HQ boots, can also be obtained from helping others. Complaints about game balance for a seasonal event, where 95% of the rewards were already given out in previous events, really make me lol.

Yeah, I saw this pretty quickly, have people talk to the NPC several times for you, when you're helping them with the race/job they need and you'll get two or three gifts.

Managed to get Dream Robe +1, Dream Boots (x2, I threw first pair when I got HQ...), Dream Boots +1, coffer, platter, stocking, ring, cane, turkey, mandy belt, gateau and sandy neckpiece in Bastok (as a Bastokan) and a bunch of fireworks before I hit a somewhat tougher combo. But I got a heap of this crap from helping other peeps out.

Taru melee, galka mages and female elvaan are in high demand now!

And my Galka mule pwns in his new boots :D

Is there no way to cancel the choice the moogle gives you? I got stuck with finding a level 1-37 Elvaan Female Samurai and I'm convinced none exist on Bahamut.

Edit: Found the ever elusive female samurai. God, what a waste of three hours.

Edit again: So SE is basically laughing at me. Now I need to find a level 38+ Elvaan Female Samurai. ><

Three hours? Why not just ask an elvaan female to switch to their unlevelled SAM for a moment? Unless you mean all the elvaan females on Bahamut already have SAM at 38+, so there are no level 1 SAMs.

Just about every female elvaan I saw (and made sure to talk to) was basically just a mule with no advanced jobs unlocked. Around the three hour mark was when I got lucky and found someone with it at level 1. Elvaan Female sam level 38+ though isn't going to happen, not wasting anymore time lol.

i found my perfect matches 8 times in about two hours. the only combo people should have trouble with is galka sch 38+

I really hope when they update event storage to include boots and boots +1 they also add in the stupid rabbit/mandy/worm belts, mine have been taking up storage forever since I can't bring myself to toss anything like the packrat I am
