Regarding hacked accounts

During the hacking of a LS member today, by what we can only assume is the same group associated with the recent hackings (same M.O. booted off, pw changed, all gil and items dboxed) the owner managed to get his account frozen by POL and recovered, minus gil / items etc.

The good part now, the owner was able to write down the telephone#, email, and city entered by the people who had changed the CC info / PW. I don't know how helpful all this info will be when he posts it, but I figure it's a start.

City is confirmed to be reno NV, for billing purposes anyways, I'll see if I can get Tomake to speed up his posting a bit so people can get started on this.

Don't tip your hat. Verify that address is really the person who is involved. Find an email address associated with the account info, and mail it from one of those temporary email sites with an offer to purchase 10 characters. Ask them for a price. When and if they give you one, ask for a physical address to send a money order to. If they are stupid enough to do it, and it's the same address, it's time to party on. Those of you in NV who live close to the address, I believe there are plenty of rocks to be found. Rocks that have a habit of flying through people's house and car windows.

I thought I was Clean system wise but i guess i wasnt...Luckily me and another LS member were able to know exactly when i was hacked so I called S-E and luckily the RMT hadnt changed anything yet...but they started to change stuff when I was talking to the guy on the phone (who was very helpful)
so when they verified who I was, and i got a new PW, i logged in to find this new info. Unfortunately My tradeable things were gone and all gil gone....

I know Jeny / Ronin_Sparthos are working together with their local PD. Solid info could be a break to putting together a fraud charge for them at least.

Maybe the information that was placed on your account was just a fake one. :/ One of those RMT probably spent a night somewhere in Vegas, and put that info in as he was in ur acct, stealin' ur gilz.

Just so you know, the visible information that you can see in POL is not billing address/information, I don't think it even has any kind of purpose aside from SE's records, and it doesn't have to be legit information. Hell, my address listed there is 123 fake street... I kind of doubt RMT would be putting their real address/phone number in there. If the accounts are stolen, good chance they didn't even change any of it.

AFAIK, the billing information aside from the last 4 digits of CC number is not visible at all, and can only be overwritten, not reviewed.
