Anyways it does not have the Language packs installed and they lost the XP CD's. Any where i can DL the language packs and burn em to CD and get this computer to show JP rather than a buch of boxes?

    Re: Language Packs for XP

I've never had to use the XP CD to install language packs, but then I always do the full install from my MSDNAA CD (not a software restore CD that throws software from the computer vendor on it). I didn't have to do it with my laptop either when I used the preinstalled version of Windows on it. Maybe that's something to do with using XP Pro though...

I've got a 9-in-1 XP install CD I got off a torrent a while ago. It didn't include a registration key, but it lets me install Pro, Home, or Media Center (three different versions of each), so it's good to have as a tech when people need install CDs and already have a reg code but lost thier discs. The disc also includes Partition Magic and Norton Ghost.

    Re: Language Packs for XP

Well i grabbed a torent of xp home and it still wont load up the language packs. It keeps asking for disc 2 of windows xp. Would i have any luck going through Windows website and trying to get some help? This is a legit copy of XP Home that came with the desktop but like i said i dont have the cd's anymore. Seems like it sould be a simple fix but hence it isnt.
