They're being more blatant about the pos hacking because mass bans mean nothing anymore, all they have to do is hack into everyones accounts, and they know SE won't do anything to let people get their chars back, then drive FFXI into the ground!
I farm SSG fairly often, the areas where RMT often live, sleep, and breathe because it's great gil without having to actually AH anything. Over the past year the progression has gone as follows:
Early 2007: Compete with multiple groups of RMT camping literally 24/7, sending 2-3 people back to town every 8 or so hours, constantly pissing me off.
Summer 2007: Depending on day, and recent bannings could be competing or it could be all to myself.
Fall 2007: All to myself and friend mostly, if RMT showed up I could /say "GM call has been placed on you for suspicion of RMT, thank you, goodbye" and 99% of the time they would high-tail it the hell out, a new development.
Since the hackings: It's flooded again, same with goobbues in the boyhada tree, threats dont work, blatent pos hacking and tool useage and GMs don't take any action.
Could definitely turn out to be a very merry christmas for people like Precise afterall if SE doesn't fix things.
i actually predicted this in an email to a friend back on june 5th. ^^ running the numbers, this is what i got:
granted, the despot quote kinda dates it too, but you can see the numbers hold up, showing this to be a great profit for virtually no work.http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/The_Firebloom_Tree
i don't think there's a requirement that you wait for the next conquest to repeat this, and with lvl 1 mules, this could be done very quickly, but only with poshacking. a dozen lvl 1 jobs who have all payed 100k to reach kaz (or the cgf ga-train the keys for 12 mules) and have worked up their kaz fame (easily done since kaz fame is linked to windy and bastore sardines with a poshack bot would take 2 hrs tops to get lvl 6 fame, possibly with a profit, if sardines are cheap enough) to level 6. here are the steps:
1. open quest, poshack to zone, exit.
2. upon zoning to 1st jungle, poshack to the 4 roots and select them via a bot (all chars would be botted anyway, to allow for 1 person to puppeteer all chars) so as to get the item before aggro kills.
3. poshack to the zone near the headstone (the only zoneline into ifrit in 1st jungle) and zone into ifrit.
4. poshack quickly to the flame spouts and jump before bombs catch and kill you.
5. die and homepoint to kaz. turn in last root for 5k.
calculating the time to accomplish each move we can see that it would take:
1. 90 seconds
2. 90 seconds
3. 30 seconds
4. 120 seconds
5. 240 seconds
this totals to about 9.5 minutes per run. let's round to 10. we've been rounding up until now, so what's the harm?
5k * 12 chars (easily scaled up) * 6 runs per hour= 360k/hr
360*24 hrs in a day=8.64 million gil per day.
note, however, that poshacking around kaz would be VERY quickly noticed so this estimate is high. if, instead, we upped the estimate to 15 minutes per run to allow for all the walking Wjlkfjalk and his friends need to do, but increase their numbers to 18, you can maintain the over 8.5 million gil produced per day with this quest. running bots, these players could even run nearly unattended while a CGF actively kills to level their blm armies for sky or bot despot.
if they have POS hack.. they can POS hack through the door to kazham boat.. no need for 100k or keys. SE <3's rmts anyway.
You get kicked off the boat if you don't have a pass. Though I guess tards will always bitch about stuff they don't know anything about ;3Originally Posted by Nitrous24
Pretty sure it kicks you off the ship if you don't have permit, similar to if you try and board the ship for ToAU without the pass.
Edit: beaten
Hmmm, unrelated but I bet it would be a lot easier to finish this quest as /Dnc.
