Floor 20,40 bosses are pretty easy but our melee tends to buy body boosts and fanatics just incase of Faf and wing spam. We got 3 Fafs on Sunday but the last one didn't wing once. Made my main healing job a /doze and hasting only :D Oh and the only drop we got was off the non winging Faf. Askar Feeties. No THF in attendance >.>

Our TH4 is finally putting out! We went 3/3 on boss floors. It is so nice to actually see something in the drop pool after killing the floor bosses besides crystals! Savagog = Denali Kecks, Deathadder = Goliard Trews, and me = Goliard Cuffs. Would have had a chance to go 4/4 but our substitute healer passed out.

    Re: Nyzul Isle question

Not a question, but today we had a very annoying floor on one of our runs. (76-80)

Had to kill Leader which was Gem Heister Roorooroon.

He ran into the room with a Ghost NM, an Archaic Gear & normal mobs. From there it just went downhill til we ended up wiping.

On the plus side, we ended up going 1/2 on Floor 60 (Goliard) & 1/1 (not counting that stupid run) on 80 (Askar).

    Re: Nyzul Isle question

This really isn't a question, but I've been a big question-asker in this thread, and I'd like to share my current state of things. My Nyzul static has gone through a lot of changes, both in tactics and members, and my understanding has gotten to the point where even with a pickup group I throw together from my linkshell in five minutes, we're highly successful.

The most important thing I can think of is in regards to dying. Taking damage isn't that big of a deal, because even when we get hit by a -Ga 3 or the like, its not much of a set back. What really kills us(No pun intended) is when someone dies. Having to wait five minutes to have a member back at 100% efficiency is a horrible waste of time. When we used to have two relic DRKs, Seigen and Third Eye made it so they didn't take too much damage that MP was a problem, but they got one-shotted on a regular basis. Most of the DDs we have now are /NIN more often than not, and while they still occasionally take damage, there are rarely any deaths. - By the way, I would say this is a lot more important than having massive killspeed. We went from two Apocalypse(Extremely well geared) DRKs, SAM, and THF, to three DD without any relic, and our success rate has gone through the roof.

Make sure people are freaking prepared! Echo Drops, Reraises, and Oils/Powders have saved us absurd amounts of time and MP. Between having to waste time and MP on Raising and stealthing people, and being completely SOL for a few minutes due to Silence and unprepared mages, I can honestly say we've gained at least five minutes per run now that we're carrying extra supplies.

Make teams! Dividing my group into healer(BRD works fine)/DD/DDx2 has also increased our completion time dramatically. We clear entire floors faster, we find bosses faster, and we get to lamps faster. Try and be smart about who you team up with who. Our static generally consists of WHM BRD WAR NIN THF DRG(/WHM). It works best to have BRD DRG NIN, and WHM WAR THF together, so the two lesser healers are together with a real tank, and the better healer is with a not-so-tank. You also don't want to make one team less offensive than another, which I'm sure is also reflected in my team setup.

And last of all, which I just recently started doing, get clever with your instructional tactics. You're likely to get at least one lamp floor, why not make everyone's names easier to sort through? Give them numbers. Before you enter, assign everyone a number 1-6. Its much easier to say "1, 3, 6, 4, 5" than "Julie, Sebastian, Thomas, Matt, Nick, Angela". Another way to cut down time is by turning the objectives into macros. As the leader, I'm always the one to click the Rune of Transfer, and explain the objective. Well, instead of taking time out to do that, I put them into four macros, which say the actual objective, and then a brief explanation of the objective. Instead of typing, I can be on the run the second we enter.(I only have four, because Activate all Lamps is always announced by an obligatory, "Fuck"- Everyone always knows what's going on )

Anywho, I know I'm no Nyzul expert, but I was starting to give up hope on it until I started really tweaking our strategies, and I hope some of this might help any group that was in our position.

I like almost all of your suggestions. Personally, I find that using first initials of the character names works better than numbers. It only takes one person to forget their number or have to ask "What's my number again?" to slow things up / get something out of order while they remember. The first letter (or two) of your character never changes.

    Re: Nyzul Isle question

Nyzul get alot harder after 50F? Cuz we lost twice last night trying to go up from 50F, and thats our first losses in probably.. close to 30 runs. I know we go unlucky, both runs had a kill all mobs floor with Roc, and 1 had Aqau as well. And another kill all floor had about 20-25 mobs with 5 NM's.

Floors seemed to be HUGE also compared to what we usually get. First run we didn't have a chance really because had to shout for a person and he said he understood the lamps, but he didn't and thus after trying a few combo's and we got what SHOULD have been the right one, turns out it wasn't because he had messed up the orders before.. so we had to kick him off the lamp and get another guy to do it and start from scratch on orders..

Second run went alright aside from the hard floors. 2 Kill all floors with many enemies + mobs ( Roc Benediction for 12000..), also had a kill 6 imps floor that was huge floor. 1 Lamp order floor with 4 lamps that was probably the easiest of them all. Last floor was kill Frogs, we killed 3 then timed out. Just seemed to be alot harder.

So does difficult go up some after 50F? Or we just had bad luck? Only good part was we got P.Amulet off Argus on one of the kill all floors..

    Re: Nyzul Isle question

No, it's all random. My group had a run where we went from 66-77 in one run (we cleared 11 floors). Once we had 3 skip floors in a row, yesterday we had 2 floors with specified enemies (2 chariots on each floor), a specified enemy floor, and a boss floor (custard) then had cerberus. I think we finished in like 14 minutes (floor 100)

Other times you get fucked with psycheflayers and shit

Guess we just had really bad luck then..>< We've never got a free floor either -_-

Closest we came is kill 1 mob or 1 leader and he pops right at the start, or everyone hit 1 lamp thats right at the start <.<

It's a million times preferable to kill all enemies or Eliminate Specified Enemies. 5 Psycheflayers drains 8-10 minutes off the clock.

Going back to my static issues from a few weeks ago and the suggestions for good setups. Last 2 weeks our BLM has been unable to attend so we managed to change the setup to what was suggested. Been going with WHM BRD WAR THF SAM SAM. It absolutely rocks... and we went 3/3 on Floor 80 on Sunday and got 2 drops! The SAMs destroyed Hydra in less than 3 mins lol. Was awesome. Thanks for the advice Sleek and everyone else. I know how I wanna go from now on :D

Nyzul is a SAM's playground, and the WHM (iirc you weren't using one) doubled your healing power for tough enemies.

    congrats ^^

No problem congrats! and who got your drops? We are planning about 2-3 weeks of head runs then we are thinking of picking up a few more people who know what they are doing and converting to salvage then I can bug you for advice. :D

    Now speaking of bad luck....
last week we had a run that was the most horrible you could possibly get. We are working on our 2nd disc so our main discholder can get a chance to lot headpieces and not have to warp out. So we are working on my disc, enter at floor 71 and get this.
FL 71) specified enemies puddings - we have accepted this as a weakness being a melee heavy group but has never given us a huge problem, but does slow down a little, we usually make it up later. - I believe there were at least 6 of them in a huge area, very spread out. Everytime we thought we had it, floor didnt open and we had to look for more.
FL 72) 5 lamps specific order in a frigging castle I swear this place had to have 20+ rooms to run through.
FL 73) Gem Heister - long annoying fight, since we were just going up floors, I was on war, so we didnt have feint.
FL 74) all enemies including 4 nms.
FL 75) specified enemies puddings - timed out after we killed the 2nd one no idea how many there were.

There isnt much that nyzul can throw at us to prevent us hitting at least 5 floors, but this is a good example. Then we went back, cleared 71-75 in about 15 minutes, then went 2/2 on legs. yay

Not taking a shot at SAMs but I would much rather take a Ridill WAR or a well equipped MNK in than a SAM.
