Mayweather considering a move to MMA

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing ... d=tab1pos1

As nasty as Mayweather is, you think he will have a typical boxer to MMA transition and suck? I mean the boxers that have tried out MMA as of now are no where near Mayweather's skill, but would he get spanked by the different MMA styles?

    What do we think.

Even if he trained ground for a year, he wouldn't be able to handle any experienced ground fighter... Not to mention kickboxers. However, there's no doubt he'd manhandle anyone in strictly boxing style matches

if this actually happens, which i seriously doubt, he'll get fed guys who have no real ground game and are just brawlers...so he can knock them out. it's all a big marketing ploy by cuban and if it gets more people watching mma and buying ppv's then it's accomplished it's goal. if they tune into a mayweather headlined ppv...and buy the next one because of the other fights they saw on that show...then it's a great thing for the sport. he'll more than likely end up training some fighters and sponsering some guys. if he does end up getting cocky enough to think he can beat a top tier guy and fighting...he won't like the outcome. no amount of jiu jitsu you learn in a year or even two can make you a good fighter. it's all about instinct and what you do in panic mode. you can't learn that in a few years. it's built over time and takes years and years of practice.

That's true, where ever Cuban is present usually means money is involved. They would not do this joint venture for him to just get punished. Like the poster before me stated, he will be fed nothing but brawlers that have a very sub par ground game.

Mayweather + Transition to new sport + Knockouts = Major money and a shot in the arm for all parties involved. I would like it to be something more than a marketing ploy but I am skeptical in regards to this.

No doubt the dude can box, but bless his soul if he expects to see the same amount of success in MMA.

saw this yesterday but he's "mulling it over" I'm not positive he would move to mma. Though I'm sure he would if he can make the same money in mma as he does in boxing, but I don't see it happening. Anyone who beats him will want more money than him and that kind of money is unheard of for 155 and under. Sadly he'll only be fighting in mark cubans mma league and probably get fed some lesser experienced guys(which is a great opportunity for them).

i would drop to 155/145 whatever he ends up fighting as in a heartbeat. it's the best opportunity in the sport if it ends up happening. i'm 185 and fight 170 normally...but i'd cut off a limb for this chance. lol
