Tales of Vesperia

Just bought this game, and so far I'm not fond of the skill system. I imagine I'll like it more as it fleshes out, but for right now it's just annoying.

Have you played a tales game before?

Seriously, I just manually go into her spell list and pick them when needed.

And I can't figure out Fatal Strikes... >.< edit: nevermind I think I get it... i'm just supposed to pick a direction while hitting B I suppose? I held RB down to switch targets and noticed that their bars were filling up.

Just got it today, haven't played it for very long, nor have I picked up a Tales game since Destiny 2, but after a little button reconfiguration, this game is pretty sweet (although jumping kindda irks me)~ However, is it me, or was some of a video sequences a little choppy?

Fatal Strikes? Thats when the circular symbol appears on mobs. You press RT and you can kill them regardless of HP (not bosses).

I think you mean Burst Artes... You're supposed to do 1 Base Art then 1 Arcane Arte and hold the B button while animation is going off (during OL of course), sounds harder than it really is.

Hmm not sure seems to happen randomly after using Artes... Theres probably some way of forcing it though.

Yeah I figured it out... if you go to the artes menu, each artes has an arrow next to its name, that arrow signifies the type of FS.

If you hold RB during a battle, on each enemy you target you'll see 3 bars, right arrow down arrow and up arrow... the same as your own artes. What you need to do is fill those bars completely (or deplete, however you see it, but they need to be colored red) and then when you use the arte when the bar is full it'll trigger the circle, then you just have to be quick and hit LT.

I also learned the burst artes just now, they're pretty easy to trigger.

And omg... Karol makes a better healer than Estelle lol.. He didn't let anyone die spamming Nice Aid Smash during a boss fight.

I also find those short conversations following battles pretty funny... mostly because of Estelle's ignorant answers.

How do I switch between characters I'm controlling in battle ):

The golem boss in the ruins almost fucked me over cause idiots kept standing in range of his aoe or meleeing him, beat him controlling wolfy with like 100hp left and no items left D:

You need to synthesize a Moon Selector.

Yeah that boss took me like 10 tries.. I was level 13 when I got to it. -_-

Really? I didn't have trouble with any bosses up until the 14th~ hour of gameplay, and I only use Yuri. (I do occasionally hit the menu and manually make Estelle to cast spells, since she's so fucking useless otherwise..)

Not sure how far in your guys are, but the story doesn't seem to let off... no boring parts so far, and it just keeps getting better and better.

I just left Nordopolica for the 2nd time, about 22~ hours in. I wonder how long the game is..
