Sigh, I beat the wolf, then went to that port town and died to that solo Yuri fight cause I wasn't prepared, had like no hp restoring items left, and started the fight with kinda lowish hp, and got sent back to before that boss fight, sigh. Pissed at the game for now so I'll probably pick it up again on Tuesday or something and just grind a few levels.

When are you able to synth that moon selector item thing?

So far the only non-secret achievement (doing specific things during boss fights) achievements i've gotten was 100 points for getting back the crystal that was stolen in the beginning of the game from the city, and for synthing for the first time/synthing alot.

I understand that there are 3 parts to the game, and you can tell by the different battle music that plays... since mine already changed once I guess i'm on the 2nd part, just not sure if it's longer/shorter than the first (I clocked in at 14~ hours when it switched.)

I'm level 36 now, this game is so addicting I can't stop playing. >.> I feel kind of bad that I've never played a Tales game before, I haven't enjoyed an RPG like this in a long time.

As far as synthing that moon thing, you'll be able to eventually... just make sure you keep talking to the synth guys (they're always next to the shops somewhere and are usually reading the paper or something.. just look out for them to get new synth recipes each time you hit a shop)... once you get it, you'll only need to find the ingredients for it. I just happened to have mine since I fight every encounter I come across and pretty much scan each area 100% for treasures, so I guess it also depends your style of play.

56 hours and just got done with the game. Pretty long for RPGs these days. Gonna go back and farm some mats and grade (need a fuckton). :D

Not sure why everyone says the wolf boss is hard. Just set Rita to only cast Fireball, lure it over to a plant, and just keep using Azure Blade or whatever on the plant. It'll keep the boss locked in stun mode while it gets pummeled by fireballs, gg.

I did the 30 and 50 man battles. Trying to get Rita some skills so I can Tidal Wave my way to victory.

I didn't even need to set anything... just lured him to the plants and destroyed him with Yuri, while the rest of the chars did their thing. Just make sure at least 1 character has the item throwing ability so they can cure others with gels, etc. and manually go to Estelle's arte menu during the battle to cure. If you're smart enough with Yuri the boss won't even touch you (he's very slow, just hold LT and get out of the way when he charges an attack..)

Exo a page ago you mentioned a download needing to finish, did you download ToV somehow or was that referring to something else? I'd be interested in downloading this and saving myself the trip to a Gamestop. (I mean a way on 360 marketplace, because I couldn't find it, otherwise I assume you just meant you downloaded an iso or something)

The main problem I had with the wolf was the little baby helpers at the start, everyone kept dying too fucking fast and it was too chaotic to be able to kill both of them fast enough to be able to focus on the wolf ):

I'm probably just incredibly underleveled, even though I fight about 85% of all the battles that come my way (except for in the world map usually, I keep remembering world map encounters from abyss and running the fuck away from them lol)

Its worldwide. lol at "The method is a secret".

Skills: Spell End, Convert Absorption + any Magic damage bonus.
Equip: World Symbol

Step 1 -> Tidal Wave
Step 2 -> Over Limit
Step 3 -> Tidal Wave spam
Step 4 -> Rinse repeat from 2.

Its one of the biggest exploits in the game.

Well, works out well for me, i'm lv40 atm with 27 hours logged... just reached the krytian forest.

Are any of you using anyone other than Yuri? I see little point in playing someone else since Yuri is so strong, but I wasn't sure how people played these Tales games... is it better to use different chars for specific things or something? I realize there's co-op in case you have other people with you and that's why you can manually set their skills/artes, but what about single play?

Lots of people use different chars in Tales games. Yuri isn't any stronger than the other choices, you just think he is because you're so used to using him.

Well there's a section about 15 hours in where your party splits, so for about 15 mins you have to control the other group until you meet up with Yuri's on a ship. I played as Judith and thought she was way too slow for my tastes... I also don't see myself playing as any of the ranged characters (Rita, Estelle, Raven), so that leaves me with Karol and I he's not that great. I suppose I could try playing with Repede, but i'd rather just stick to Yuri if that's the case.

About 11 hours in and I'm at level 23 at the guild city. Some of the secret missions have its FUCKING AGH moments, but you realize they're not that bad when you actually finish them, lol
