WTF is up with this final dungeon... jesus christ, so many doors/staircases/paths/warp devices, my head hurts...
I found the first save point/first boss in this place, but now i'm lost again. I figure I just need to keep moving up so that's what i'm doing, but man...
edit: yay beat it... kind of disappointed with the final fight though, even though it was challenging at certain points.
BTW, it only took me 47 hours and I was very thorough, so...
Still, 47 hours is a good amount of time for an RPG anymore.
It's good, but it's not 60.
I'm going around looking for sidequests/chats around the world and there seems to be a lot of them... some stuff I won't be able to do anymore since I screwed up (killed all the giganto monsters for one so no sidequest for that..), but that's what the 2nd playthrough's for I guess.
Pretty much switched to using Judith full-time. Her combos are amazing, easy to breach 20+ hit with minimal effort.
Seems like all you CAN do with Judy is to constantly do up attacks and attack from the sky after artes... otherwise she's pretty slow and useless.
Your Tales newbness is showing.

I feel like Charismatic...so dirty...
Calling a character useless just because YOU don't know how to use them is lol-worthy.
Why must you be so annoying lol..I said that all you can do with her is attack while being airborne, try attacking from the ground and see how slow she is. Hell, that vid only made my argument stronger, really... he barely even touched the ground.
And yeah, I mentioned several times that it's my first Tales game... i'll get the hang of it.![]()
I fail to see how that makes her useless at all. Air juggling is one of the more effective ways of racking up combos on monsters that can be launched.
I'll say it again, just because you're new to the series doesn't mean that the more advanced characters are useless.
Says the guy who whines every time something in a game is too hard. Why must you be so annoying lol.
So like, I keep hearing about how the story gets incredibly awesome, and so far I'm kinda, ugh, bored <_< Can't really play for more than 30-45ish min without getting bored
I just went through the rainy town and that ship fight, do things start picking up soon? :D
edit: and my power cable disconnected and i hadn't saved in a bit.. sigh
I never really found the story to be amazing either so far, Abyss was a lot better in that regard. It might also just be because every Tales game seems to have the same 3-4 character types, so even good storywriting will eventually get stale.
Well... as far as the whole "same character types" deal is concerned, Phantasia/Destiny/Eternia were definitely not that way.
After that though... I kind of stopped caring because they felt mediocre in comparison somehow.
The gameplay kept getting better but the stories seemed more stale (imo)
I went ahead and bought the game after renting it im 35 hrs in now, enjoying it alot, I like the combat system alot, as for the story julian its more of a taste thing I would say, I personaly am enjoying the story.
Holy shit I wish I could do that with Judy. She's really not bad once you figure out how to use her aerial combos (and get the skills that add combos both on the ground and air).
Right now the part we're stuck at is the at the top of Mt. Temza (or whatever it is.)
Wow, all the hatin' on the storyline. I'm surprised. I personally find the characters to be much more interesting than those in Abyss, but to be honest, I really didn't like Abyss's storyline much at all. The main character.Spoiler: show
Meanwhile, I feel that in Vesperia, YuriIn fact, he may have unseated Jade as my favorite Tales character thus far, and that's difficult to do.Spoiler: show
Also, the female leads in Tales games have traditionally terrible dub voices, but Estellise is one of the most tolerable I've ever heard. She beats the shit out of Colette and whoever that chick in the pseudo-Tales title Legendia was.
