Recapping Subcraft

Sorry if this has been asked to death. I did a few searches before being told I couldn't search any more and I saw a few references to this being done, but couldn't find how.

My main craft is cloth and it is at 96, the sub in question is smithing at 60.

At one point I had intended to level up smithing a bit further to take something to the next tier but that idea is long passed... now I'm stuck with no protection on my cloth skill in the event I hit 100.

I tried talking to the guild master in bastok and he just gave me some crap about this just being the start of a long road or some damn thing.

Who do I talk to?

I think what you are implying is that if you make something @ 100 cloth and 61+ smithing youll delvl cloth? I think thats what you are saying. what item would do that? lol

I dont know... something that hasn't been put in the game yet?

It's also possible a friend may ask him to make something in the 61-70 range of smithing and he accidentally gets a skillup in the process.

Anyway, I searched for a few minutes and this is the best I could find, and it doesn't answer how to do it for veteran.

I think you have to talk to a NPC from your main guild (the guild master?) and then you can relinquish your other journeyman+ crafting ranks.
