BLU Maat (Rhauban fight) help

Ok so, after a fun adventure in mamook getting testimony, wife just took her first run at the BLU version of shattering stars, and well, it didn't go so good.

Opened with bad breath on him, hit for 0 so I assume he buffed with stoneskin, saw him buff with refueling so I know slow didn't land.

Paralyze landed, bind landed, blind landed, but silence didn't land, set chaotic eye but didn't get a chance to test it as he immediately used radiant breath and just set the whole fight as an upward battle.

Opened fight with MND+ gear set for Cocoon, Diamondhide, used refueling, went with hi-ether x2 yagudo x2 vile elixer, ic. wing, and echo drops. I can't really figure out where the fight turned so badly besides radiant breath, but spamming headbutt / damage spells only got him to about 60% HP.

Any info / help / suggestions? Wiki is as usual retarded about this, suggests opening with frost breath, leaving him completely un-enfeebled, just seems stupid to me (although with bind sticking, even 20s, could bad breath > frost breath next time)

Pretty sure he isn't silencable and Bad Breath has a huge MP cost. Sleep to 100% or use an Icarus Wing, open with Azure Lore Frost Breath then a Detonation SC (Vorpal Blade > Hysteric Barrage) then spam DD spells between Head Butts. Fight is fairly luck based since he can instant cast stupid shit like Radiant Breath (happened to me first time and I wiped too). You just need to zerg it as fast as possible, the longer the fight lasts the more likely you are to lose. I buffed with just Diamondhide when I did it, but since then they've added Zephyr Mantle so use them both, you can swap them out for more DD spells after you've cast them if you're strapped for blue points.

Any easier camp for the triggers? Went in mamool ja SP side and only found a camp with 2 BLU @ 16 min repops, it sucked.

The fight is all luck, same with the COR one - if he decides to use spells that are gonna fuck you, they are gonna fuck you no matter what.

Generally speaking, I think people just open with frost breath rather than bad breath, bad breath is almost half your mp

Should be a Mimicker on a 5 minute repop there. Drop rate is ass wherever you go unfortunately.

You just made my night, I can run wife out to wajaom when she's asleep and farm those solo if I need to. Mamook is just a death trap, friggin hate it.

If that's the same spot I helped my friend camp his (pretty sure it is), there are some other mobs around there that wander so make sure you pull him to a safe spot. Obviously nothing too dangerous but annoying nonetheless. As far as the BLU fight goes, I just remember from my friend's experience that Raubahn using Radiant Breath usually meant a loss.

I dunno, mamook was fun to camp the test for me. Made me enjoy the game more with the soloing and ninja-ing around finding, pulling, and killing mimics without the other mamools linking....

As far as Raubahn goes, he reminds me of MNK Maat: Fuck him up before he does the same and hope he doesn't use AF(the really bad spells.) He'll start buffing immediately when you zone in the BC, so I just loaded up with as many good physical spells as I could and spammed him as hard as possible from the get go.

Full resisted Frost breath to the face (lined up correctly) with Azure Lore and BA up, wiped at 30%

Friend suggested maybe Caiti should load MACC and open with 1k needles, will this have any chance to work?

Or memento mori on breath?

Sure it wasn't just stoneskin making it do little damage? You'd have to be extremely lucky for 1000 Needles to land and it's a huge MP sink so I don't personally think it'd work. Also you only have to get him down to 25% (I think... been so long ) so if you get him that low again you can reraise (he wont aggro you) and hit him with a spell before he regens, maybe 2 if you're lucky and he misses you or goes to cast something like Frightful Roar. There really is no sure fire way to win and if you managed to get him down to 30% you're doing good, you just have to hope he picks crappy spells to use. Maybe try using Frightful Roar? Should overwrite Cocoon if he chooses to buff with it aswell as helping with the def down. Also you're making sure to solo SC straight after you engage (so Azure Lore is still up) right? Azure Lore adds a huge amount of damage to Hysteric Barrage if you have hardly any TP before you cast it. Best of luck on your next attempt, it's a pain in the ass.

What's the opinion on buffing up HP (gigant, cassie, hume RSE, etc) and breath -> 300% TP spirits? Not worth the loss of the SC? Figure could still hit azure CA Hysteric after as well.

And damn, that's a shame, lost by 5% I told her not to bother to reraise too, since she was like 2 feet in front of him, fucking hell lol.

Sorry, I should of mentioned it in my first post ><. That strategies worth a shot I suppose, I have no idea how long it takes to sleep to 300% so just make sure you're not cutting yourself too short on time if you do try to go that route. If you're not skillchaining I'd probably go with Azure Lore CA Frenetic Rip over Hysteric Barrage though, personally does more damage for me and there's less chance of missing (3 vs 5 hits) and not getting full damage.

Guess it's a toss up, it seems if either A) breath isn't resisted (if it was) or B) get 1 more spell in she has it down. I hope.

Can anyone just second confirm 25%? dont wanna throw everything we have to get to 25% then have him still be standing XD

That Blue M. Testimony you have there is a free warp to Mamool Ja Staging Point on your BLU anytime you want. Just trade to the whitegate, enjoy keeping your 200 is, and zone out from Jade Sepulcher to the north camp at the staging point. You still have your testimony and can use it anytime.
