    Re: Online Poker

You can LOL all you want Weltall, doesn't matter to me. It gets so blatantly obvious that it goes on a sort of routine. On Bodog for instance, rule of thumb ive noticed, is if you have the best hand 2 times in a row, you'll win the next 2 or so, then the next 2 are just setups for bad beats. It sounds like im crazy but when its happened to me so many times, it's hard to act like its coincidence. Happened last night basically 2 times in an hour. Had 3 good hands in a row, 2 pocket pairs and AK, won all 3. Then the 4th, I got pocket Ks. Immediately because of my "setup paranoia" i have, I kept in the back of my mind, I might get fucked here. Flop came 552. I bet .75 in a .5/.10 game. He calls automatically. Turn came a J. I bet a 1.50. He calls auto. River Ace. Now because of my paranoia, I knew I was beaten right then and there. I check, he bets 6.00 for no reason, I fold, he shows the Ace like I thought. He had A 4. Yes A 4. And about 40 minutes later, similar thing happened, won 4 hands in a row easily then I had AK and flopped a straight, only to lose to runner runner flush.

Now this is not a sore loser talking by any means, either. I play on nothing but a large amount of profit i've made already so I really don't give a shit when I lose hands in .5/.10 tables. It's just the principle.

Absolute isnt bad really, the player pool is a lot smaller and the guaranteed tournaments aren't as plentiful as the ones on say pokerstars or full tilt. From playing WoW so much I've grown to be really picky of how my interface looks in games so I don't really like how it looks compared to FT and Bodog but that shouldn't be your deciding factor. What really matters is that you feel comfortable at the table and you feel like youre playing in games you can beat.

The lower the limit, the more people that can afford to play stupid. You get what you pay for. It doesn't help that these idiots think everyone plays as stupid as them so they often think you have nothing so they stay in thinking their king high is better than whatever crap they put you on. As they say, "that's poker."

You do have a point about online games seeming to be "fixed." This is due to the fact that it's not truly random. A computer can only simulate random outcomes but it will never be as completely random as the real thing. Computers sometimes get stuck in patterns. You just gotta hope that your website's random number generator is pretty good, which is the case on all the major sites.

On the other hand, I only play on live games when I play for money and play for free when I play online or against a computer. There have been plenty of nights when it seemed like every dominant hand was getting cracked on the river with some 5% suck out on the river.

To counteract this, I have resorted to going to the restroom and changing my underwear inside out, betting raises with my left hand and calling with my right, stacking my chips in stacks of 21, and always making sure my legs or arms are crossed at all times but never both at the same time. Kidding of course...or am I? :D

I used to play online but i ended up down some money and stopped since. I just redownloaded pokerstars and would love to see what everyone else is running so I can get back into it. I haven't opened up my cash account yet with pokerstars, if everyone else recommends another then I'll hop on that.

I tried to download UltimateBet tonight, but system is down or something ('-'p)

I'd be interested in DLing and starting up on another site if other people are doing so.

I was gonna buy chips on Fulltilt but it seems minimum deposit is $50 where as pokerstars its $10... FT seems to be a bit smoother and more populated as far as BGers go... looks like I'll stick with pokerstars at least for a week lol.
