    Low level job in campaign

I tried looking through forums to find this, but I don't have that many hours right now to read everything.

Is it advisable to participate in Campaign at a lower level job than 75? I'm trying to see if my 42 DRG can participate. I also have 75 PLD with /WAR and /NIN. If you're feeling charitable, you could also answer whether /WAR or /NIN is better for PLD.

    Thank you.

Of course it is. I did participate in a bunch of battles as 55 Dark Knight. I was able to land hits for around 70-90/swing with fairly good accuracy.

About your subjob...up to you really. I'd recommend /nin in tougher zones.

I see PLD/DNC a lot. They seem to have a great ability to survive. Since many mobs are aspirable, Aspir Samba does wonders, along with the addition healing/hate generation from Waltzs.

Can you do DRG/WHM? Like Besieged, you get points in campaign for curing. Melee, cure, use your JAs as much as possible. You won't get as many points as a 75, but it's better than sitting around doing nothing.

Your wyvern will do well in there, in any case and unlike many places, it'll live through the experience without a problem.

So yes, it's doable. Go as you'd solo, DRG/WHM.

Low level? I tried going in as a SCH12/RDM6, cast like 100 cures over 30 mins and came out with 200 EXP :\

I tried too, except i was 10 SCH. I wanted to see if such a low level could be worth using in Campaign whatsoever. It was a fairly lengthy 3 wave campaign too. I didn't deal, or take any damage (would die obviously), just spammed cure 1 on NPC/Players. Ended up with something like 45 Exp/90AN. Curiosity sated though.

Level 55 seems to be the level when you uncap and get good exp. There does seem to be a soft cap on when lowbies can participate.

Thank you so much for the helpful info for DRG!

i may just stick with PLD/WAR as I've learned the hard way that I'm incompetent so far trying to juggle Utsusemi: Ichi and Ni. Respect to all those post 37 NIN tanks!

Pld/war does just fine out there -- I prefer it, in fact, simply because of the damage output. No non-NM should do enough damage to really make a pld squirm (I run full homam in campaign), and I'd still be using /war if I didn't discover the manifested sex that is /dnc.

On jobs lower than 55, the only way I found to get decent exp is by meleeing fortifications in offensive campaigns.

Whenever I go PLD to a campaign battle to recap buffer, I usually go /rdm, or /blu. Blue Mage is an amazing sub job for PLD, especially in situations like campaign. The only downside is it is a little tougher to hold hate, but in campaign/besieged, it's not quite as important. With some Koenig on, a spare Taco I had laying around in MH and cocoon, my defense reached somewhere in the 800-900's? Nothing like that NM Quadav using Hundred Fists on you, and hitting you for 5-20 damage per hit. Can also tank Jagibod's Warmachine as /rdm, I tanked it from 90 to 55%, with only a few people hitting it. Admittedly I got lucky with the right barspells and shield blocks when casting stoneskin, but it gives you huge survivability, until it Firebombed me for 1.1k

I found going /blu or /war to campaign's where mobs use a lot more physical attacks is more beneficial, but for the other campaigns where mobs like to spam magic spells or elemental TP moves, I like /rdm.

Never tried /dnc though, I guess I should get it to sub level when I start playing again, sounds really nice.

Re: Low level job in campaign

I've gone from 66 WHM to 68>67>68 (I aggroed on the way to one cos someone distracted me running through the zone) via campaign over Xmas when I was stuck on a laptop too laggy to be able to do anything more interesting on it. Boyfriend's had his 60NIN out and gotten enough exp to ding 2 levels on it too, skilling up /BST after each level.

    Exp cap
    lv1-15 - 20%
    lv16-30 - 40%
    lv31-45 - 60%
    lv46-60 - 80%
    lv61 onward- 100%

    Found it on this site(JP):
    http://ff11wiki.rdy.jp/2026067319.html

So.. IMO, before lv46, I probably would just stick with normal EXP party instead. Even 46-60 seems kinda crappy to me, but this is good news for my WHM and COR!

Re: Low level job in campaign

That doesn't look right. I've been spamming campaign for a while on my SCH at multiple levels and there's no way while I was in the 40s I was getting 80% , I only could get 300-400. 50s is when you notice the jump , not 40s.

<- Proud PLD/DNC on my server maybe one of the first, PLD/DNC is great for campaign, Reason why? http://killingifrit.com/forums.php?m...&n=last#bottom at my post in KI pretty much explains it, and also i don't feel like typing it again.
For the most part you can generate hate easily with the waltz and keep you HP up with no problem, get mp back quickly and could surive with easily and hold multiple mobs also tank most of the bosses, ect. ect. in the end its probably the best sub you can use in campaign IMO for PLDs. Even though you wouldn't be able to straight up tank the TP drain mobs unless you got people backing you up on cures, you'll need it.

I tried doing campaign with my other lower level jobs, bascily should just do /whm and cure. If your under lvl 50 that is. I agree with Nyuneko, you be best off exping unless you really want to spend hours getting 100-300 exp after each campaign go to jugnar_S if you don't feel like jumping around to each zone.

Because the copy and paste solution is obviously harder than typing what you just did
