Next MMO you may play?

FFXI was my first and probably last MMO, unless they made Diablo III.

I'm seeing a lot of these answers... Why aren't you people playing Hellgate: London? Its kinda depressing. Its made by the same guys (the entire dev team from Diablo II left and made Flagship Studios, which designed HG:L) and has most of the same elements of the Diablo series (Prefixes and Suffixes on items of varying power, customizable talent trees, varied and powerful classes, Unique / Rare / Legendary mobs, randomly generated levels, a rather dark scheme to the game... It got a lot of shit from many people, but at the same time, it was FSS's first venture as a private company.

If you get into it its a lot of fun, unfortunately atm its more of a singleplayer game as so few people play it you don't run into the same people a lot. I'd love to get a guild going on it, but alas..

Honestly, though, if you liked Diablo 2 and are waiting for a new one for a new MMO, go try Hellgate: London. You'd all be playing it if they attached Diablo 3 on there I guess the saying that SE just puts 'Final Fantasy' on things to sell it, as something like FFXI probably wouldn't have been as successful if it had some other name.

If by some miracle I do decide to play another MMO, it sure as hell won't be one released by SE. I've dealt with my share of garbage customer support for the time being.

Hell yes.

I don't plan to ever seriously play another MMO (just piddle around for a couple weeks at a time on random free games), but even if I did I am damned sure I will never touch another SE MMO.

I actually like eve. PvP is fun. Got my very first solo kill the other day. The rush reminded me of claiming an nm in ffxi. Not to mention the game is less time consuming than most mmos.

ro2 sucks, if you guys are anticipated about it because you were oldschool ro1 players... you'll be disappointed fosho
i played closed beta, didnt have any special feeling at all. felt like any other kr "grind and rmt for allowance" mmorpgs

games that are planned for international release/i'd recommend are cabal online, aion, dungeon&fighter, tabula rasa(sp?)
ps: d&f is so fucking badass, its coming out as an arcade card game for japan too... currently ranked #1 popular over here

I guess its kind of ironic. In D2 I played the shit out of Paladin on every difficulty.

But on FFXI, my PLD is one of the two jobs I have at level 1. The other is PUP. (Both the P's... interesting).

The only times I've gotten a real adrenaline rush while playing a game - claiming an NM I've been camping ALL DAY LONG (like, 6 hours on a day off, in high school, that was a damned big investment) and getting into an engagement in EVE Online. Its a good thing / bad thing though - the rush is GREAT, especially if you win. The bad part is that the rush is there because most likely you're piloting a ship that means a lot to you - it took a long time to build it, farm the materials / money to afford, it may be the last one you have, etc etc... Ships are an actual investment of large sums of time and energy in that game... if you fly the best you can, you're putting your top dollar on the line. If you don't, you're at higher risk to die

I've been tossing around the idea of going back; if anyone knows of it, I was a member of Sniggerdly, which was a pirating corp... I'm a good guy in all other games, decided I'd try that out, it is strangely fun just going out and picking fights and griefing and getting away with it - encouraged, even. However, we got involved in big war politics (if anyone remembers the BoB incident with the devs, yeah, we were smack dab in the middle of the retaliations... how is that going, btw?) and it kinda tapered off, and I left for various reasons. Come to think of it, that was pretty damned epic, what other MMO can you jump through a gate with 350 friendly ships into a gate camp of 500+ enemy ships, each one worth months of farming to afford, and extensive build times?

Honestly I think the only reason I even decided to play FFXI was because it was a Final Fantasy... I was expecting a battle system similar to FFX and thought it would be cool lol... then got addicted within the first hour like everybody else.. >.>
