I just watched it and I agree with everyone who said that the teenagers' dialogue was unrealistic. I don't care how cool or how much of a "unique rebel" you think you are, no 16 year old talks like that.

Not sure if this was posted before, she is pretty quippy (is that a word) in her interview with letterman too.

Gave the movie a chance, it was "ok." The music really made it almost unbearable to watch though, really hated it.

Small text cause its a pretty cool part of the movie. For part of the movie you think she is getting taken advantage of since she is young and the dude is old, but then you realise she is actually the one in control and she wants to get back at this guy. She she tricks the guy into thinking she castrated him tying him down and numbing his balls and playing a video tape of a castration as if she was actually doing it to him and he freaks out, so he is watching this tape of a castration thinking its actually happening to him. It was a while ago that I watched it but I think thats pretty much what happened

Pretty good movie, since I could overlook the quippy-ness of it. But the one thing that bothered me most was the reaction of the parents when Juno said she was pregnant. I'm not saying it's unrealistic (there's going to be at least one set of parents that reacts like in the movie), but I've witnessed a guy telling his parents he got a girl pregnant and the reaction was a lot more animated than that. >_> If that was the reaction of the guy's parents, I would think most girls' parents would react even more strongly. I guess the reaction scene in the movie was meant to be "different", but it felt off to me.

I didn't care for the music too much either. It went with the movie perfectly though. The movie was fucking great.

I think it helped that she provided the canned solution of adoption, and even had a family lined up, in the next sentence, to take the edge off.

Yeah, she immediately blurted out what she had planned, otherwise it would've been a normal reaction. And they were still disappointed in her mistake obviously.

Just saw this tonight and it was amazing! I love the wit and the humor. The way Ellen Page portrayed Juno was perfect.

I think thats how my parents would react if I was a girl and got pregnant. Some people are just very easygoing and understanding when it comes to large problems like that.

    Re: Juno

I saw this movie by myself like a week after my girlfriend dumped me and the themes of life making plans for you really got to me. I really related to the B-Story of Mark and Vanessa and the idea that Mark was attracted to somebody who actually gave a shit about what he loved in life. Ultimately I thought the movie was good but had some minor issues with some of the over stylized dialogue. When the movie wasn't trying way too hard to be hip, it was very hip. Kind of like a line from the movie:

"You're like the coolest person I know, and you don't even try."
    "Actually, I try hard."

    Re: Juno

It felt like a 90 minute episode of gilmore girls. The diologue really took me out of the story, noone talks like that. I can understand to a certain degree why people like this movie and others similar to it like Little Miss Sunshine, but all its characters are stereotypes and the movie was pretty predictable. It just seemed like a cleaned up version of a more interesting story to make it more palatable to a wider audience.
