79% is low enough that I'm 95% sure flash has skewed the average considering the damage parses and the fact that we were chaining easily, plus it was hovering higher than that for a chunk of the time, hence my question on how much it's likely to skew it. Especially considering I was eating sole sushi as my food for the majority of the time (one or two mobs with no food after I ate fang rush for >1k with no shadows). I'm thinking of trading in rajas for a sniper, which is a couple more acc. +1s and toreadors are outside my price range at the moment and I'm holding off for hope torque in the neck slot.

I've always seen a skew in the range of 3-8%. Never higher never lower.

Could be worse maybe, but I don't think it'd ever effect your hit-rate more than 10% unless you're on a diet of pure Sea Puks and have the worst luck with Flashga ever. With an occasional Skoffin to wind wall and mix it up.

What he said + if you had a long party, it takes a lot to move your acc by 8% so I don't think that Flashga from the Puks was the main cause of this.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

The 3-8% range I mentioned includes distortion from Sea Puk Flashga, Skoffin Wind Wall, and Mamool Lurkers over the course of a longer PT.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

I'm supposed to be exping again tonight, so I'll parse again. PT wasn't too long, only ~25k exp, and I was using the gear listed above, so unless I get a repeat performance I'll chalk it up to small sample size + bad luck.

edit: 3-8% is within what I assumed it would skew it by, 5% was my eyeballed gut feeling guess, but I thought I'd get some either hard(ish) data or more gut feelings before I made any assumptions.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

I am mainly looking at my SAM, which is 74 at the moment. I just have never gotten a feeling of what a good % acc was good enough to use meat over sushi, which made this question come up.

As for gear, I use the following:
Hagun (Soboro, but rarly use since 72)
    Pole Strap
    Tiphia Sting
    Optical hat (Turben@75)
P charm (Really need to get a Snow gorget...)
    Fowling Earring (Brutal@75)
    Bushinomiwhatever
    Hauby+1
Hachi hands, Dusk gloves (Depends if I want 6 or 7 hit setup)
    Rajas
    Ulthalam (Flame for WS)
    Amemet+1
    Lifebelt, Potent, Swift
Hachi pants, Dusk pants (Hachi will go when I ding 75 with a merit)
    Hachi feet, Fuma's

Also, I have 8/8 Great Katana merits from NIN, which made leveling SAM so much better. I have used meat almost always cept for when I hit the mire at 66, which is when I started sushi for a few levels, same with when I went to birds at 71. Since I am getting to 75 where I will have capped GK skill, I "think" I should be able to use meat full time, but when I starting parting with 75s with pretty decent gear and seeing there acc, made me concerned.

Should be fine. Not counting any distortions you should be able to hit the 85-90% area pretty well with meat at harder camps.

Around 85% should be fine to use meat.

Bolded part though I don't understand, why would you want to use a 7-hit ? Once you can get 6-hit with decent accuracy, you should never go back to 7-hit.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

In order to get a 6 hit setup before merits, have to use Hachi Legs, Feet hands and also Rajas. Sometimes I am not sure if it is worth it since I cant macro in Alky, dusk legs, and Rutters for WS, but most of the time I do go with the 6 hit setup.

And thanks again for the replies. I really am grateful for it.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

If you can use a 6-hit effectively, in the long run it will be better than a 7-hit where you can get Alky's and Rutters in.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

Mamool Ja's parse won't help judging your hit rate because of its randomness, camping at N,E,S of the map gives different results due to mob type variance. Try to merit at bird camp, the parse outthere will give you a more solid number, then you can take that number to -5% in average for your % of hitting mamool ja.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

As a Ridill War, 80% ACC is unacceptable, you're better off using axe/axe cause your TP gain is going to be the same if not better. I shoot for 92%+ ACC so I can WS as soon as possible, nothing like being able to WS two times within the duration of Might Strikes. That being said, 8/8 axe/sword, ebody, toreador's, pcc, bomblet, suppa and 1 brd ACC song gives me capped ACC at bird camp and probably mamools except THFs.

Given that I have run around macros devoted to swapping dusk out (and my turban to other random hats, from my 10 or 11, <3 taru hats) I would assume it's to get rid of the -movement.

pre-75 I disagree in general, but specific situations might warrant it.

you're giving up 6% haste (dusk+fuma) to do it, so assuming otherwise normal haste (19%: haste spell + swift belt) you'd need 7.5% or more dot gain from the switch.

7 hits vs 6 hits is a ~14.2% increase in weaponskill rate, so your weaponskills would need to be ~52.8% of your overall damage to be even.

if you have high haste for this level (i.e.: there's a bard in the party and you can use hasso - so 40% haste) you would need to be generating 70% of your total damage via weaponskills for a six hit build to pull even with the 6% haste lost from the 7 hit build.

throw sword strap on top of that (since you're not 75 yet and rajas+lvl70 store TP maintains 7 hit build) and it just gets even worse for the six hit build.

    Re: Melee Accuracy

I typically parse at about 83-86%, meateating THF/NIN. I'm not entirely happy with it, there's still some upgrades to do. My 'ideal setup' won't be a terrible upgrade when thing's are balanced out. Lose 3 from swift>speed/velo, gain 1 from homam>skadi, gain 2 from sniper>+1. Been toying with Sniper/Jaeger over Sniper/Rajas recently, so 2 Sniper+1's might be an option, though I'm not a real fan of it.

The rings is the only thing I'm not sure about, happy with the rest, no way no how would I switch back to sushi build. :3
NIN is firmly in sushicountry with a haste setup, and my WAR could really use some pieces to be able to use rid/joy or man/rid with meat, not sure if it'll be productive.
