So seriously, what is it? I could've just as easily replied to some of your initial posts with a "you must live on planet ego LOL IM SO CLEVER LIUIOOOOOOOOOL" response with the way you were talking, but I didn't. I suppose there is a separation in maturity with this discussion now.

True, it prevents you from using Hasso. A party getting hit with single target spells (aside from Elegy/Lullaby at birds, which are taken care of pretty easilly..) has other problems. How often do you need 9 consecutive shadows on the same mob in a merit party? If the war is using a Gaxe, /SAM will do more for them damage-wise than /NIN will, and if it's not a problem for the healer to keep up, I don't see what's wrong with it if they prefer it to dual weilding.

Single target spells like, uh, sleep, paralyze? And even with 4 people beating on a mob, it can get the stray thunder4 off. Trust me, I've fought enough spartoi sorcerers to know that tidbit very well.

And, having 9 shadows to cast in several smaller units is very useful when you're fighting shit that clears shadows, or stuff that uses physical aoes frequently.

I thought this was about a WAR in a merit situation? Who merits in KRT anymore (not like WARs did) anyways? I don't often see melee's getting paralyze cast on them in a merit party. Even if one does get off on a war/sam, only a lazy healer would refuse to remove it quickly.

I saw that, and I specifically said in response to that post to explain how my post somehow accomplishes a defense of Blackice, all the while never bringing up Blackice or anything he says or referring to it, and also completely disagreeing with his point. You remember?

Please explain to me how my one post irrefutably but somehow accomplishes these three things:
1) A defense of Blackice's initial post.
2) An obvious disagreement with what Blackice's initial post was.
3) No mention, references, or implications involving anything Blackice said.

Yes, I believe I realize that. I was merely responding to your KRT reference that spells can go off. You stressed that paralyze or sleep can go off, which i had previously said are not even a big deal to take care of when they do go off. I'm speaking from a healer's point of view here. Yes, a tier IV can go off during a mamool party or something, but not terribly often. You can get hit with Tier IV if you are /NIN too.

I don't know what this is all about but shit is situational so the whole /sam vs. /nin thing is ridiculous. There's a time and a place for all subs, depending on party setups and what mobs you're fighting. I don't mind /sam subs if the mobs are going to die fast enough that it doesn't matter, if we're doing some easy crap like colibri.

Honestly though from my experience with it, although I haven't run into any decked out dual wield warriors lately because everyone I know who uses warrior uses 2H if only because perdu, byakko's and fortitude is so much more attainable, it seems better than swell to me.

I'd just like to reiterate how much I hate it when people stick to one staple or another. If we're talking about all out damage, I'm pretty sure that /sam would win out and I think that's what ruke was saying anyways. But if you need survivability obviously /nin is better. In no way is his first post an attack on anyone at all but so many people just have to throw around their e-junk.

Yes I am defending him because he is a friend, and a nice guy and I really think people are hating on him just because he's Ruke. It's stupid to say he posted just because of blackice, so what? they're friends and obviously read the same crap, they are interested in the same thing.

I love your use of adverbs too, as if flipping out describes someone who is calmly typing each sentence with minimal typos and no caps lock or exclamation points. Or have you just not come to terms with the idea of someone using the word fuck for emphasis and not out of pure anger or loss control?

I hope your definition of how to use certain adverbs isn't as over exaggerated as your ideals of a merit PT situation, or you probably do really only exp with all /NIN jobs.

Edit: From a mage stand point, and since you have a Ridill, I see no reason to NOT use it. But yeah going Gaxe/Hasso to every pickup is going to get you killed more often than not, but a well/decent geared war should have no problem finding a good party.

@OP: Your setup looks fine. I wouldn't use a haste belt until you have sword merits though. On mamool (especially the THF or NIN which will be pulled eventually) you'll need those merits especially. You might even want to use Sushi there. Even with Axe/Axe with 3 merits, I'm not comfortable with using meat there. Unicorn would be an improvement over Amir once you get more Sword merits, but Dusk feet aren't so bad either.

Disclaimer: I do not own Dusk/Amir/Unicorn feet, or a Ridill (do have Joyeuse for the sword comparison).
