might i suggest completely changing the forumula of how coors is made and call it "new coors", resulting in a massive uproar by its fan base. then, changing it back to how it was before, but this time marketing it as "coors classic" and make millions. you can thank me later.since my job in a nutshell is to take a "pepsi" drinker (miller/bud) and get them to enjoy "coke" (Coors)
i've had SA's honey lager, it wasnt that bad and it wasnt that good, i found. if i was at a party and some was there, sure i'd have one. but in the store, it wouldnt be something that i would pick up over some of the other selections there.
i think it's kind of interesting how chill has been placed, as well as other beers. i was unaware that catagory management existed, i thought that it was up to the retailer to arrange his shelves the way that he wanted to.
nice pics. i can see what you mean now with how light it ended up being, looks like a pilsner. what you may want to try is substituting in some brown sugar for your regular sugar. i think it'll darken the beer somewhat. of course, since brown sugar isnt as refined as the table sugar that you've been using, it is not 100% fermentable. which means it will have an effect on the taste, but since you said before that you wanted to try out honey, this might be a good stepping stone since what makes brown sugar brown is unrefined molasses. just make sure that you do your research so you know how much and when to introduce it in since i've never personally tried it but have seen recipies and people posting about using it now and again. just something else to consider.
nice corprate loyality with those glasses, Mr. Coors! i have a set of those myself and they're great. however, if you find yourself brewing/drinking more low-carbonated beers, those arent the best glasses. that ring on the bottom acts as a neuculation (sp?) point which stimulates the formation of bubbles and will quicken the flattening of the beer. it normally isnt a problem with mid-high carbonation, but with low it's just going to make it completely flatten faster.
