Sergeant Major help

I completed the situps and pushups parts of the Sergeant Major rank up mission... now I'm stuck on the running part. I can't seem to encourage the 3 guys the correct way in order to get them to stay on my screen; I've tried pretty much everything. Any tips please? :D

Is not too hard, but yeah takes a couple tries, mostly because this kind of stuff is non existant in FFXI so takes time getting used to it.

You probably know this already, but it helps to know that the left guy is 1st on your menu, middle is 2nd, right is 3rd. I only lost my first attempt because I wasted time figuring out who was where on my menu.

Eliminate the reading and just react as quickly as possible.

Don't worry about whistling too much on them. I lost because of that my first time. As soon as they even start to drift, put their asses back in line.

the camera doesnt move forward at the same speed the runners do
you have to whip them harder near the end than you do in the beginning, it seems.

Actually I remember this exact thing screwing me up. The guy on left is actually the 2nd option in the menu, middle guy being the 3rd option, and the right side guy being the 4th. Kinda tricky with only having 3 options being visible at once so you actually have to scroll down once to get to the 4th guy.

If nothing else, after 6 or 7 tries (I forget the exact number) it gets easier. The first few tries I was hopeless, not even close to winning, then suddenly it was like wow! I can do this! Easy!
