Scary Video Games!

Zelda: OoT

Before I begin let me tell you it took me 4 years to beat this game.

1) Running through hyrule field and just as I get to the castle the draw bridge goes up. I had to reset the game and try again because I could not look at those zombies (Stalchild or something).

2) I finally plucked up the courage to go to the forest temple (after my friend had done the first 3 bosses for me). I got nice a comfortable with what was happening with the forest temple, I felt like I could finally play this game without getting scared. I was 7?? 8??? Don’t remember. So I’m walking along this corridor looking for a key and out of fucking nowhere a massive, horrible, purple hand grabs me. I had to turn that shit off and didn't play for a week or two.

3) The shadow fucking temple of ocarina of time, I think I was 9 now when I finally got that far. ... need I say more about the shadow temple? I mean what the fuck was that crazy ass thing that looked like a stretched person... and it would waddle over and sort of move its long neck down to try and kill you. Also the boss "bongo bongo"

Anyways there you have it.




Also a recent game was BioShock,

1) When you first see the shot gun at first your like “Fucking-a about time!”, then fucking out of know where the lights go off and they come out. II was sitting on my couch and jumped up when that happened then I was like “FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!” now I just hide in the corner and run up behind them but damn that really, really set the tone.

2) When you get in to the garden level and you see that splice with a mask on and he’s all looking at you waving for you to follow him and I was all like “Sweet maybe another survivor!” then you follow him for a bit and see him explode and I was “HOLY SHIT!” then he comes back. In fact those enemies always fucking scare the shit out of me.

3) And I would say not really jump out of your seat scary, but mental scary was Cohen’s master piece with what he had you do. But when you walk in to the basement that’s flooded and you run all the way back to check for items and you turn around and the stone things come at your that’s pretty fucked up. I had to pause it and turn on some lights after that.

Playing RE 2 for the first time I think. Going to this cathedral-like room where I needed a certain key item. After going there and getting it, I proceed to walk across the room back to the door. Suddenly the screen change, and camera pans up, showing a licker crashing through the glass ceiling.

Me and brother (who was like 11 at the time) freaking screamed and jumped a bit when we saw that scene. To this day I haven't forgotten it, since it was the first game to give me the creeps like that.

Bioshock, that creepy dentist that appears right behind you when the screen fogs up. He doesn't attack you on lower difficulties but I was playing on hard and turning round to a creepy dentist screaming in your face = brick shitting.

Mine would have to probably be the very first time I played Resident Evil 1, when Jill walks around the corner and the Dogs burst through the Window. (Mind you, the horror genre was just reaching its full potential at this time) and I distinctly recall my friend and I yelling "OH FUCK!!" and threw down the controller and stepping away from the tv. To make it worse we were out of town for Spring break or something to that effect and we were in a foreign city, state and in a hotel.

2) Would have to be RE3 when you would hear a faint "staaaaaars" and then Nemesis would find you shortly thereafter. Did not scare me per se, but I enjoyed being the hunted.

3) Doom. Dark and gory. Very fun, what more is there to say.

4) Fatal Frame series ftw.

5) F.E.A.R is also another one I enjoyed alot. Creepy nonetheless.



Edit: Not a video game but something that gives me goosebumps to this day was a skit out of Creepshow 2, "The Hitchhiker". "Thanks for the ride lady " is the quote that gets me for whatever reason lol, ughh I get goosebumps just thinking about it. Anyone else seen this particular skit? lol

all the silent hill games minus 4 really got to me, especially two since I got so into the story and how you were expecting to actually find your wife. And who can forgot the ending to three: coughing up a dead fetus and then having the antagonist eat it in front of you.

Resident Evil 1 when I was like 11 scared the shit out of me. The first thing I did was try and go out of the main entry way of the mansion. Fuck that shit. Then when you see the first zombie. I didn't even know what a zombie was at that time. Jesus tap dancing Christ.

Then I started playing Resident Evil 4.

The worst part was when I was in an autopsy room, and picked up a keycard from behind a table with a corpse on it. The corpse had this parasite thing being torn out of it. I was expecting it to come alive and attack me. So I walk around it and exit the room. There is a 8 foot tall fucking zombie called a Regenerator standing right next to me.



Fuck that.

Fake edit: Also, fucking Resident Evil 3. There is a part where there is a hallway with a small save room, stairs going up to the second level and a couple doors in a hallway inside a police station (it was also in Resident Evil 2). As you start walking down the stairs, you hear a thump noise. And as you walk past this window Nemesis jumps through WITH A FUCKING ROCKET LAUNCHER and starts attacking you. This wouldn't be TOO bad. But when I moved to the next room, and he fucking FOLLOWED ME. I shit myself.

I rented RE2 for N64 one time and loaded up somebody else's save file, there was some room where I clicked on a mirror and some red monster with a huge tongue burst through. Apparently it was an interrogation room and it was a one way mirror. My step-brother and I were sitting in chairs in front of the TV and we both screamed and he actually fell over backwards in his chair.

Doom 3, shit would pop out and make me scream in fright. I think I played for like 10 minutes before quitting that shit.

anyone remember the pointless part in silent hill 3 where your in a giant empty room with a mirror and a wash stand thingy. If you stand in the room long enough you can see blood pouring through the walls on the other side of the mirror. Eventually it works it's way towards the wash stand and comes out on your side of the mirror and eventually covers the entire wall.....Then your reflection starts walking around. lmao

Other then that it served absolutely no point and couldn't hurt you, just scared you shitless.
