If you liked KOTOR you'll love Mass Effect. If you're a JRPG fanboy though, you won't enjoy it so much.

Nah, then you aren't a fanboy. A fanboy is someone who is incredibly loyal to one type of game/tv show/whatever, and will bash anything that competes with it or falls outside of the supposedly perfect formula. A JRPG fanboy would bash Mass Effect for having poor character development or something, since the main character doesn't have a personality of his own, as you define it yourself instead.I'm a jRPG fanboy and I love Mass Effect.
Well I wouldn't as far as bashing other types of games because I enjoy pretty much every genre, but I certainly like to play almost every single jRPG that gets released regardless of how good/bad it is... I give them all a fair shot.Originally Posted by MisterBob

Hm... I played both KOTOR, but only one time each because I really didn't think the difference between light/dark would be enough to make me replay the game other than being a dick as opposed to not being a dick with phrase choices, and shitty "job class" choices.
How different is Mass Effect in that aspect? I know there's different jobs and good/bad decisions in this one too, but do the job classes actually change how the game is played unlike KOTOR games?
I'm with the kitty, I can't seem to find an official PC release date :ashira:Originally Posted by Sonomaa
Playing a Soldier and playing a Vanguard is completely different... way worth playing the game through at least 4 or 5 times if you ask me (to try out of all the different jobs... well may not all cus some of them are just plain annoying, but most of them seem like a lot of fun and are pretty damn different.)Originally Posted by Ivaden
KUF looks good, when did the demo come out? And fuck yeah to NG2 in April \:D/
Found N3 used for 25 bucks, rofl taking it back pretty soon. Just got it to tie me over till KUF, I know they look similar but KUF at least has a point to it? I guess. I just think I enjoy hack-n-slack in a more RPG setting, this is like Dynasty Warriors watered down. Still fun and mindless though so whateva.
I play PSU quite a bit. They released a huge expansion for it last month, it's pretty awesome now. I have a lvl 87 Cast (Playing acrofighter atm, they kind of have a job system like FFXI). If you like PSO, you might want to check out PSU now... they are going to be having an event soon that has the old school levels of PSO like forest, cave, temple or w/e.

I played the PSU beta and it was more than enough... too boring for my tastes.
That game's graphics and interface do nothing for me. I had a 5 minute run around at a friend's place and took an instant dislike.
For those who don't have it yet, Assassin's Creed's dropping down to $40 at Best Buy~
Already? >.> well it's definitely worth 40 bucks.
gamestop had it for $50 on the 26th of december as well, and cod4 for ps3 for $40.
Yeah, I got a newsletter from them through e-mail
STOP BUYING COD4!!! For fucks sake there was 350,000 people on last night...online is near unplayable nowadays. Can't wait till the kid's vacation is over. =(
It's a good game![]()
Assassin's Creed seems like a rental to me. Actually, these days most games are less than 15 hours of gameplay, so I'd say there are tons of rentals unless they some kickass multiplayer or some odd replay value. If are low on cash, I'd stick with Gamefly and Blockbuster for most games, you'll get more bang for your buck(5-6 game experiences opposed to just 1).
Bleh this might be a good recommendation, too...why is that nowadays? Why do we find ourselves, as gamers, scrambling for longevity? Has the online connectivity boom squashed out the need for decent-length single player? Granted some greats like MGS were ~7 hours, but I seem to remember always getting my bang for my buck in the PS2 days. Beyond Good and Evil, Disgaea, shit even the PS2 Arc the Lad was a decent, full-bodied game. It feels like multiplayer is the focus for all these next gen systems, and if it's not the focus of the game then the game is short anyway.Originally Posted by BRP
