I know a lot of people are into the MMA Scene here. Many of you have probably heard boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently made some comments about contemplating a venture into MMA.

Well here is Floyd's father commenting on said idea:

He makes upwards of 20 million in his title fights as a boxer - MMA money isn't even -close- to touching that. The only incentive really for him is to try to "prove himself" in another style of fighting.

Submission of the night honors were given to Georges St. Pierre for his armbar victory over Matt Hughes in their interim Welterweight title rubber match. The armbar victory gave him an additional $50,000, which adds to his $160,000 official fight purse.

Due to lack of options, knockout of the night went to Eddie Sanchez, for his stoppage of the newcomer Sao Palelei. Sanchez received $50,000 on top of his contracted salary of $46,000.

I bolded Liddell since he was the highest paid on the card. Some fighters also get a share of the PPV revenues. I think Liddell and Matt Hughes both get a share of that.

Mayweather wouldn't be coming to the UFC any time soon, he'd be participating in M-1 Global, which is owned by billionaire Cuban (which is the same person who convinced Mayweather to even consider this). If he were to fight in M-1, he'd make just as much as he did in boxing, or there's no way he'd even accept to move to MMA. He's all talk, that's for sure.

On a side note, I am pretty interested in seeing Brock Lesner fight in Feb. I was going to take a vacation this quarter and I'm considering going to Vegas. He is a world class wrestler and he is friggin immense. I'm pretty sure he has to cut weight just to make the heaviest weight class (think I read that somewhere).

They're the same height(Mir has him by 1" though), A weight difference of 10lbs. to Lesnar, Frank is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blackbelt, Lesnar an NCAA wrestling Champ, Mir a former UFC Heavyweight Champ already comfortable in the octagon, Lesnar has only 1 mma fight in K-1. Mir has defeated opponents much bigger and much more experienced, even broke Tim Sylvia's arm. I give advantage to Mir.
