Parrying Special Attacks

Has anyone ever heard of this? I was in sky soloing pots on Beastmaster, and it used Spinning Attack on me. Spinning Attack missed, but I got a parry skill up. I have never seen this happen before, so I'm just wondering, if this common knowledge? Or a fluke? Or am I just crazy?

Happens all the time.

Parry or guard on on TP moves shows up as a miss.
Ironically, you still take damage if you guard the attack.

OK, just making sure. I haven't leveled any tank jobs (except for NIN to 37, and my Parrying was capped throughout) so I've just never seen this happen before. Thanks for confirming my sanity x_x

Been working on parrying for a long time on War, gotten parry ups off of Typhoon, Wind Shear, Rushing Drub (think it was drub), gotten Guard skillups off of Goblin Rush and Head Butt.
